Honestly I think Serral's ZvT has improved quite a bit...I really wouldn't mind seeing him vs. TY, Maru or Inno.

I think only hope for a non serral victory is now Mana and the big book of Protoss bullshit

Balancing WCS and GSL has never been done successfully, not by TRUE, not by Neeb, not by Scarlett. Serral playing against Koreans more would tell us if a foreigner has been "good like this before" though. He's played against Koreans a fair amount though. He's played 10 offline sets (counting both Bo1s vs soO as one combined set) so far this year, and will most likely finish somewhere in the high teens, including sets against both Classic and Maru when they were pretty much undisputed best in the world. Stephano in 2011 played 15 sets, 4 of those being Bo1, and only played 'good' koreans in Bo3/Bo5. He played a ton more in 2012 but if you trim the weaker Koreans from that pool it looks pretty slim too. If you trim the weaker Koreans Serral played like 5 matches. He beat Rogue 2-1, Trap 3-2, and Classic 3-1. That's about it in terms of beating top koreans It was about playing not beating. And he played Maru & Classic again. Getting ruined 0-3 doesn't help his status in comparison to koreans though.

When I say trimming weaker Koreans from Stephano's results I mean guys like ReaL, JYP, Heart, GanZi, Rain, Daisy, KeeN, Revival, TheStC, CranK. These guys were fringe Code S at best in 2012, and Stephano played 18 sets vs them that year. That's a third of his sets vs Koreans.

In 2018 this is probably the most backhanded compliment you can give a Korean.

The best korean zergs (soO, dark, solar) struggle to beat TY/Maru/Inno a lot of the time, and they get constant practice against them. I wouldn't have much confidence in Serral

You disagree that Serral is far better than the other players? Not dropping a map thus far seems to indicate that pretty clearly.

You can't act as those guys are on another level compared to the likes of uThermal, Elazer, SpeCial, Snute, TRUE, Scarlett.

No, but the entire post reeks of your annoying, abrasive "fuck wcs" attitude like you had nothing better to do in your spare time than ragging on something nobody who reads your posts can change as if the god almighty was going to smite Blizzard down and paint words "CHAROSAIR WAS RIGHT, REGION LOCK KILLED SC2" on the sky

Yea but at least there were some Koreans in the foreign scene tournaments back then to show some competitive matches

Zest made more Ro8s than every korean I listed for Stephano combined, and Impact is still a pretty solid player. Just gotten some unfortunate luck having to face against Classic/Stats/soO/TY in Code S Ro32.

Yea but at least there were some Koreans in the tournaments back then to show some competitive matches Yeah and the Koreans were asscheeks. Put Serral up against Leenock, LosirA, KeeN, aLive, DoKyung, Cure and ByuL and he'd still look damn good.

I disagree with you calling the foreign scene a joke, yes Serral is dominant so far and is favourite to win but the skill level in the foreign scene is closer to Korea than it has ever been and the overall skill level is higher than its ever been. Foreigners can't take a map off Serral because he is as good as top Korean zergs.

Region-lock obv didn't kill sc2 but I don't think the WCS events with Serral (and Neeb last year) just winning everything are turning out as Blizzard expected. It just bores me that nobody can challenge the good players.
