Nah, it's not worth it. Balancing WCS and GSL has never been done successfully, not by TRUE, not by Neeb, not by Scarlett.

Serral playing against Koreans more would tell us if a foreigner has been "good like this before" though.

He's played against Koreans a fair amount though. He's played 10 offline sets (counting both Bo1s vs soO as one combined set) so far this year, and will most likely finish somewhere in the high teens, including sets against both Classic and Maru when they were pretty much undisputed best in the world. Stephano in 2011 played 15 sets, 4 of those being Bo1, and only played 'good' koreans in Bo3/Bo5. He played a ton more in 2012 but if you trim the weaker Koreans from that pool it looks pretty slim too.

If you trim the weaker Koreans Serral played like 5 matches.

Seeing Serral play would be actually fun and exiting if it didn't meant that the tournament becomes a ZvZ fest, saddly this is the foreign scene.

I think in the start he had too many units still at the back, and towards the end he lost too many to banelings. If he was more aggressive and had good splits + tank targeting he wins that.

Seeing Serral play would be fun and exciting if he actually had any competition.
Sadly the players that could challenge him aren't allowed to play in this tournament.

That was cute, but I think at that point he was already fine after somehow having held the previous engagements.

judging from play, I would put it like this:

in terms of choosing the correct unit composition, placement, general strategy and decisionmaking - neeb when he plays at his prime looks to me the best I have seen from a foreigner.

in terms of overall play - as in mechanics, consistency, not making mistakes, large scale control, etc - serral is undoubtedly the best foreigner I have seen and looks better than any korean I watch right now. and it's not just because we are seeing him against other foreigners. I am not saying he *is* better than dark or rogue, but his macro, movement, reactions.. it's typically hard to find any mistake. he's basically like stephano in his prime, which is already an amazing feat, but he's much crisper than that. stephano had a little sloppiness, serral almost never does.
