i was checking gsl 2016 to see if he got out of groups (he did of course) and i totally forgot there were only 2 GSLs that year, dark times

2016 was the worst year of pro SC2 to date imo


The skill level in 2016 took a massive dip for some reason. Part of the reason I didn't buy the ByuN and Neeb hype. Everyone else played like shit around then

It's made obvious by the fact both ByuN and Neeb couldn't hold a candle to the elite players nearer the start of 2016, and by early 2017 they had both dropped of (in comparison).

I suppose it makes sense given that they were unaffected by the immited death of proleague/teams

Fair enough. Though Neeb's run was also a perfect storm of the meta coinciding with his strengths.
