that is completely your opinion. Rogue is plenty special to me

Seriously. People need to look at Rogue's 2016 results and realize how far he has come and how amazing this run was.

oh my god dude who cares about that 2016 and 17 have been a sham compared to sc2 of the past.

soO and TY are different almost qualitatively from Rogue. Shame the hot streak lasted this long.

lol that bullshit, how is TY any different from Rogue

the only thing different about them is that they had fans in bw but Rogue was one of the hottest players coming into the tournament off the back of the super tournament win. soO has had long streaks of terrible matchups this year. Form is everything and Rogue came into the tournament with top 2 form

Rogue was also great in SPL, I always had him on my FPL team and it pretty much always paid off. It's not like he did nothing before this year.

Tons of ro8s in GSL too back then.

Rogue was a middle class never-going-to-be-a-champion player bar a super nice event where everything clicks. Now the pool allows him to win.

because we've been saying he's had potential since his progaming debut in 2001 when he was a 3rd trimester fetus!

He used them to make a ton of corruptors to deal the BLs but he didn't have a great spire. If he did, he could have made them into BLs and dealt with the mass hydras. It was really unfortunate. Also, his eco was so badly hurt. He was on 4 bases with 3 already mined out while Rogue was on 5 or 6 and continued to expand given he kept soO stuck on his side.

Heartbreaking for soO. He is GOAT without winning it big.

Yea when there was no attempt to rebuild the hive, it looked like a slow death from then on.

Hard to really fault SoO for losing a ZvZ to a guy like Rogue though, hard to fault anyone for that really.

Yeah, it was our best chance to do away with this GOAT discussion, and now the momentum's gone.

Was maybe.

Now he is the best zerg there is and incredibly hard working. The players he beat recently are exactly the players who were the greats in your "best era of sc2". Innovation, soO, herO, TY, Maru, Dear... or are all those players also players who couldn't do shit when the player pool was deeper back then?
Maru and Serral are probably top 5.

well with the context changing a lot it's hard to grasp - the scene may be less competitive but the level is higher than ever
