This might actually be the day where a foreigner advances. Can't see MajOr beating TY but he can definitely take down sOs and Curious.
|
I'm really curious (no pun intended) about the level of performance sOs will show today
|
The sOs blizzcon dream.... or the first foreigner in ro16....
we can only get one
edit: this is when major loses to double proxy robo

On July 22 2017 07:11 Myrddrael wrote: This might actually be the day where a foreigner advances. Can't see MajOr beating TY but he can definitely take down sOs and Curious. nah, the gatekeeper will surely not allow a foreigner to get into the ro16.
|
They only have one Gumiho, I think Special's chances are ok. Unless Curious or Sos beatsTY.
|
This will be a very "special" set of games.
|
If Major gets Elazered and has to play TY twice I don't see him getting out. Other than that he stands a real chance. Probably the best chance of the foreigners in code S to begin with
|
MajOr's chances more or less entirely depend on sOs. If sOs decides to make an end-of-the-year Blizzcon run like he has for the past couple of years, MajOr is screwed. If not, he has a good chance of advancing in second (after TY ofc).
|
It's about time to decide sOs should retire or not.

Major freed up some supply for TY to build army now
|
great game! come on SpeCial!!!
|
That was a fantastic even game from both players until the last 30 seconds and suddenly TY was up 80 supply lol
|
dam, ty's flanking army wrecked major hard
|
TY was just too cost-effective throughout the whole game. Slowly strangled MajOr, he was just outclassed.
|
Well played by both, TY was really in control though for a lot of it despite not being necessarily way ahead
|
meh if special had held the gold that game would have lasted another 30 minutes hes looking really strong

TY stepped it up in game 2, straight up outclassing MajOr in every way. Korean Terran > Foreign Terran, to nobody's surprise.

Can't wait for Major to eliminate Curious and TY (via rematch curse)

That first drop did way more damage than I expected.

I dunno about mech, seems smarter to save energy for TY instead of grinding through long macro games.

He wasn't that great. And that was an aberration. Curious's job is to guard the gates of Code S. Nothing more. Nothing less.

Goes pool first, makes 2 lings to kill the SCV building the CC, the lings never even get to see the SCV.

This has been really solid defence by Curious so far.

Doing a pretty poor job of it nowdays. Time to retire for sure.

What do you all think about the centre third? I'd have thought that it was too vulnerable to pushes and especially to getting cut off from the natural, but in general it hasn't been too bad I think.

Does Rapid think Major goes to the Ro16 if he wins this game?

You get fucked by the tank push there, but it's pretty ok otherwise. Creepspread can be troublesome. In general Zerg prefers the linear expansions since drops can't abuse you (like the elevator harass between the "old" 3rd and your main on Abyssal).

The Cure/inno semi was epic, FlaSh's run interrupted by soO then shattered by DRG. The FlaSh/soO game on foxtrot was incredible too. When you look at the list of drop outs in the ro32... (Classic, Rogue, Bbyong, TY...)

I'm more used to Douyu and Afreeca, gonna probably cheat and have a chinese buddy explaining me everything coz the try and fail method can be a bit boresome sometimes.

I read the thread a bit and if I understood correctly his play was rather unimpressive, he mostly benefited from the fact TY can't play vs him to save his life. So yeah, one can still dream of a run to Blizzcon but most realistically it will be very hard even in ro16.

He needs to either win GSL or make great runs in GSL and the Super Tournament. And I don't really like his odds too much yet. He still needs to upgrade his play.

He's definitely the most 'Korean like' in practice and strategy so its no surprise he does a good job in a GSL style tournament

In particular, he is a huge fan/student of TY. Practicing in Korea obviously helps.
Also, he saw the future with "Bogus, man."

sOs wins every second year because he saves 2 years worth of strats and blows it all in one go to win blizzcon.
