major best foreigner ?

amazing result from him, good job

He's definitely the most 'Korean like' in practice and strategy so its no surprise he does a good job in a GSL style tournament

Whether MajOr is the best foreigner is arguable (though I would argue no), but unlike a lot of other foreigners he actively strives to imitate the Korean meta and playstyle, which sets him apart from a lot of the other foreign Terrans. In particular, he is a huge fan/student of TY. Practicing in Korea obviously helps.

Also, he saw the future with "Bogus, man."

well, apparently the odd year dream is still alive ?

You can use the word "apparently" only if he is in GSL semis.

the dream is alive = he can still do it, not he will do it. I read the thread a bit and if I understood correctly his play was rather unimpressive, he mostly benefited from the fact TY can't play vs him to save his life. So yeah, one can still dream of a run to Blizzcon but most realistically it will be very hard even in ro16.

He got a good bracket in GSL vs the World as well, facing Neeb (weak PvP) and then probably TY (weak vs him). But Ro4 will most likely be soO and I would definitely favor soO against sOs.

it would be nice if he made a neat run, but there are no WCS pts to earn here. I agree his bracket is basically as good as it could have been for him.

I am following sOs for many years and I "lived through with him" his runs before odd BlizzCons. He was losing, unimpressive, desperate in the first half of years, no chance of making it to BlizzCon. And then, he received a wake up call. It was always some foreign tournament with several foreigners, and there, he has shined. And since that moment, he was winning everything. This year, he does not get to any foreign tournament, but this GSL vs World wild card luck is giving him the "wake up call" tournament chance. Additionally with an easy bracket for him.

This isn't what happened at all in 2013 though.

Any recommended matches?

MajOr vs TY was excellent, both series but especially the decider.

that SCV+Reaper micro battle at the start where Special/Major denied the completion of TY's expansion CC... so reminiscent of early game C&C micro battles.

sOs wins every second year because he saves 2 years worth of strats and blows it all in one go to win blizzcon.
