Hi everyone, the DSCL Open returns in 2016! Building on our three-year tradition starting with Harstem's epic win in the World Forum in 2013, all the way through uThermal's second championship victory in Amsterdam last year, we're back with the 4th installment of our flagship tournament.
And as you would expect from the DSCL Open: it is OPEN! Any 10 players can earn a seed for the tournament through 5 online qualifiers. These players will be joined by 4 players who qualifiy through the Crafting Stars Series Finals (which is currently running), and our invited previous winners Harstem and uThermal. If you want to play in the qualifiers, read the rules and sign up right here:
- September 5th, 19:00h CEST - September 14th, 19:00h CEST - September 19th, 19:00h CEST - September 28th, 19:00h CEST - October 5th, 19:00h CEST
Just like last year the 16 participants will first go through an online group stage (groups of 4, double elimination), after which the best 8 players will come to the offline finals on December 3rd. In 2015 we had uThermal, Ret, Namshar, Guru, StrinterN, SpaceMarine, Jona and Optimus coming to Amsterdam, we hope to get a similarly impressive line-up of players in 2016!
Dates for the online Ro16 (broadcast by BaseTradeTV and Wardi.tv!):
- Wednesday October 19th - Thursday October 20th - Tuesday October 25th - Wednesday October 26th
The grand final will be streamed on Twitch.tv/DSCLeague. We hope you will all tune in and cheer for your favorite players! If you want to help e-sports grow in the Netherlands, tell your friends about the broadcasts too - we promise we'll make them fun and informative.
This year’s prize pool is €1.000 split up as follows over top-8:
1st place: €400 2nd place: €200 3rd/4th place: €100 5th/8th place: €50

It's happening! The finals of the DSCL Open will be next week at the Dutchrank E-sports Championships. Eight awesome players will be there, having their matches commentated by Wardí, Lowko and Weiman:
- uThermal - Harstem - Socke - Lillekanin - Optimus - FeaR - TomikuS - InZaNe
Will uThermal grab the title for the 3rd year in a row? Would be his first premier tournament win playing for TL .
The event will also be host to the finals of the Open Series of Hearthstone, as well as a Smash Melee tournament for which you can still sign up. All info about the event is at Dutchrank.nl/event, while specific info about the DSCL Open finals is right here.
Please help us promote the event among your Dutch friends by inviting them on Facebook. Any help is much appreciated!
Tickets are only €10 and available at store.dutchrank.nl. If you can't make it but still want to support, we also have Ambassador Tickets available!

We've just published the schedule for the event on Dutchrank.nl/event. StarCraft will start at 13h (group stage) and 18:30h (playoffs).
Besides the tournaments we also have entries like a surprise piano performance and presentation about Google DeepMind vs. StarCraft on the menu!
|
We've just added info about the afterparty! Gonna be rather low-key: we're going out for drinks after the StarCraft finals, and all players, crew and visitors are welcome to join.
Tomorrow we'll be setting everything up all day, hope things go smooth. See you on Saturday!

Really fun games between Harstem and Lillekanin so far. Mech and Air Battles
|
Well, Lillekanin vs Harstem sure is different.
Battlecruisers are pretty sick.
|
I think uthermal would have already won this game if he kept making scvs.
|
uthermal is making this really hard for himself. He's had sub 30 workers for half of the game. He seems to be one of those terrans than build around ~60 workers and never build anymore no matter how many he loses.
