On January 24 2016 01:02 Die4Ever wrote: white people should try it sometime I guess? seriously though, violet is the ultimate example of a korean living in america, there's no excuse why foreigners can't do it too lol i really don't think it's just "live in korea/practice on KR", i think it has to do with having access to a culture where starcraft as an esport is a more comfortable and legitimate (relative to the west) way to live life in your early 20s. naniwa practiced in korea and he did really well, sure, but it didn't put him on the same level because there's still a culture gap. look at state, he went to korea and he's become the awkward redheaded stepchild with no results. everyone always says "he's getting so good practicing with the koreans," but he never does anything. it reminds me of demuslim hype  if you speak korean and have korean friends and can have a conversation with people who run team houses and understand practice concepts and you come from a background where you know people from your home country have become a big deal and made a good living on SC2 specifically, i think that is what gives you the advantage. otherwise you're saying "white people don't know how to work hard," which i know nobody is trying to say | ||

Because they have the proper visa Visas, they don't live in Korea. Banning them by race alone probably wouldn't go over well. ohhh, I get the official policy. But why is it like it is? Passport lock/permanent residency lock (so Masa can attend and we get no charges of racism) would have been just as good from the legal standpoint. | ||
