Current League InformationLatest SC2ITL S6 NewsSponsored by Team Extreme SupremacyBe happy in life and embrace your love for Starcraft. - A message from a supporter of SC2ITL S6.
Let's try this again. Season 5 was a complete turn-around from the success and progress we made in SC2ITL Season 4, so we're going to ignore it and pretend we're continuing from Season 4. Which was awesome. Over 4,000 of you watched Team Liquid become SC2ITL champions - a number way higher than I could have ever imagined when I first made the SC2I Team League. In Season 6 we are going to push the boundaries once again. We don't just want the SC2ITL to be something you see is online and tune into. We want it to be the league you are waiting to go online. We want it to be the league you are talking about when its coming to upcoming matches. We're going to focus on making the SC2ITL a show where you can tune in and not just be greeted by games of StarCraft, but with content to set the scene and to build up the hype of a match. With our new broadcast schedule we will hope to string multiple matches together, to create longer and more coherent streams rather than an odd match here and there. I'm really excited for this upcoming season of the SC2I Team League and I hope you are too. Let's do this!! Important InformationRegistration closes January 1st, 2016. League begins in January. Qualifiers early January. Prize Pools€2000+ First Division, €20 entry-fee. €300+ Second Division, €5 entry-fee. €0 Third Division, €0 entry-fee. It was entirely our fault though. Scheduling was a nightmare at that time and we never promised we'll play games. Other teams said they'll be there for matches but then weren't, which screwed over the broadcasts. We didn't do that. So our only fault was showing up in that list of teams. We should have declined from the start but we thought we can make it work.
It's not cause we didn't want to play a team league.
|
Yeah, this is the one I was referencing.
Sorry, I was just really disappointed in TL when they signed up for Clan Wars, a major event that TB tried really hard to bring back, and then never played a match.

But it was sad to see you never got around to playing a single match, since TB tried so hard to make the damn thing work. And even more sad since the teams who also played Proleague at the time all found time to play at least once.
But I'm not holding it against you.

10 Days left to register for Season 6.
Sadly right now the sign-up numbers are really disappointing for the Second and Third Divisions. Without a drastic change in interest the Second & Third Divisions may be merged or even cancelled -- which would really suck because there are some really fun plans for the lower Divisions and it is nice to cater to everyone.
First Division is looking fantastic at least!
|
Few days left to register your teams for Season 6! Second and Third division are still looking a little bit empty, hoping to buffer them up before we kick this off! http://www.sc2improve.net/sc2itl

Looks good, if Axiom was still around we would have definitely signed up :D

It's BO7 all-kill, so you need four players for each match.

Great job, Wardi! Really hyped for Season 6!
The only question so far is about Team Acer - as MMA retired in December will they have enough players to compete? Only Nerchio, Scarlett and Bly are listed on the site.. Or be allowed to have a mercenary? I'd really like to see them play, but hope they won't drop out in the middle like Fnatic in Season 4...

There are a couple of teams announced so far who don't have enough players to take part just with their main roster, but both have alliances with other teams.
I assess each alliance/mercenary separately, but my general rule is that two teams can only ally if one team doesn't have enough players to take part on their own or a team which might struggle on numbers consistently through the league can pick up a single mercenary who wants to take part in the league but is not part of a team.

Don't suppose there's any schedule for upcoming matches or anything?
There's nothin' in the thread, and Liquipedia doesn't seem to show any actual dates for Week 6 or later. There's something on the upcoming events schedule, but hell if I know who's competing today?

No schedule atm because this week has just been full of cancels due to players being in Shanghai and some other LAN events which are running over the Easter weekend.
Tonight will be some matches from replays, if I get the replays, I don't know which yet ~

So? You got some replays? :-)

Not that it matters very much for the standings, but will Redbloods be disqualified after the disbandment of their pro-roster? No real chances amateurs could take any team in the 1st division..

They have decided to leave the league and so all their matches will be set to 0-4 losses (including those that have been played), which is standard procedure when we have a team leaving the league mid season.

We are working with Dead Pixels-OnFire to get them caught up on matches. They should have two matches this week, and they also played a match over the weekend which will be cast from replays, so they should be caught up a lot faster than it looks like.

Hey it actually took place but I never got all of the replays // when I did it wasn't worth streaming them (old patch). It was a 4-0 from nB with F3 forfeiting game 4.
All matches get played because the final standings in groups will be used when considering teams for Season 7.

So ROOT vs. Gravity was listed as a match happening today (and it appeared suddenly), after the first one, and then it disappeared.
I know there's issues with scheduling between teams and stuff, but having no actual schedule makes it kind of difficult to get enthusiastic for the matches, especially when they just sort of appear and disappear at random.
|

We made changes this season to be able to cast more matches. Last season we casted about 50% of the matches? This season we have casted almost every single match. I can recall 3 matches which were not streamed at all. On top of this only a handful of matches have been casted from replays.
It has been HELL to make this work for me. I feel as though every minute of the day I am attempting to confirm with teams. Then one week I schedule late so it's even harder and it's extremely stressful. But I think it is worth it to be able to cast so much more of the league, than having teams scheduling on their own which is even worse because oftentimes last season when this was the case teams were suddenly like "hey we play in two hours". It was discontinuous and far from ideal.
So while I appreciate your criticism, please be aware that it has been greatly improved since the previous season. That's not to mean it can't be better. However the real issue is when these players and teams are unable to confirm until the day before, or even the morning of the match. I mean it's all well and good assuming that they will be fine, but then if they are not we have publicized a match incorrectly. Then when do people believe it's real and believe it isn't?
That's what happened today. I assumed ROOT / Gravity would be fine, turned out it wasn't. So I took it off the TL Calendar. I mentioned it on stream multiple times it had to be moved and so on. There is only so much I can do, when it is the teams that are replying to me too late.
This isn't me having a go at the teams - there are a mixture of teams who are full of professional players and who are able to respond at all hours of the day, and teams who have managers with real life jobs as well. Sometimes they just can't confirm with all of there players until the night before or the day of. This is something that can be very difficult to fix - am I meant to introduce a rule which states the teams have to respond two days before their match is scheduled? Is that realistic? I'm honestly not sure.
It was a lot better earlier in the season when I released my initial plan for the week and then edited it as we went along (something I tried to keep up to date in the OP of this thread), but it has become very tedious for me to keep this up to date. Obviously still not ideal if things change, but better than nothing right? But is it realistic for me to keep that up to date, well not always when I'm receiving messages from 20 different managers at different times when I have different amount of things to be doing at each time I receive a response.
Overall it has been a good learning experience for me and I am sure that by the time Season 7 comes around I will have a better answer to improve once again - similar to the giant steps we took with the league between S4 and S6 on this issue. I know this is quite a long response and maybe not what you were looking for, but I feel it's important for everyone to know in a bit more detail the realities of scheduling and the issues faced.
|
Just believe that Wardi is doing great job with SC2ITL but there is some moments, that something is go wrong and there is no way to set it that like you want to get. And I know that you just want to get everything to be smooth and real-time but it is always some kind of improvisation and you must to get used to it.

Our grand final will be this week, September 1st at 8pm CEST : Team Liquid vs Millenium.
The finals of SC2ITL Season 6 will mark the end of SC2Improve events. Over the past 5 yeas SC2I has put out over €10,000 of prize money spanning over competitions which started at small, open-entry weekly events through to the largest team league outside of Korea. It has truly been an amazing journey and one that I never thought would exist when I first started SC2Improve.
At some point there will be a larger and better-written goodbye to SC2Improve, but for now I will stop and let you guys get excited over what should be an incredible grand finals of what has been a truly unique season of the SC2ITL.
|
It's finals day... See you tonight, let's end this season with a bang!!

Three years ago I started a €250 team league because the admins of another team league pissed me off. A few minutes ago Millenium became our Season 6 champions taking home a portion of the €2000 Prize Pool.
I really can't believe what the Team League turned into. I went from streaming about 10 matches in the entire Season 1, with 50 teams to streaming about 90 series of the First Division this season, which hosted 100 teams in total (that means about 50 BO7s a week, a lot of which are streamed by the teams as well). It's been a wild ride, with a lot of ups and downs, but mostly ups. Maybe it's because it was the right thing at the right time or something, I don't know.
SC2Improve, and specifically the Team League, has obviously become a big part of my life. When I started this I was looking for people to play SC2 with, now I'm a full time streamer and content producer gaining opportunities to travel the world, talk on TV and just work in an industry I have fallen in love with. It's truly ridiculous, the journey I've been on since 2011.
Tonight's finals once again delivered and I couldn't think of a better way to say goodbye to the SC2Improve brand, but it is truly time for me to move on. It's a name I will never forget, I loved it so much I was even afraid to let others help me run events. Even in Season 6, I ran all three divisions by myself. It's a challenge but it's how I like to do things and it's what I find fun. Hopefully I can continue with that mindset into the future with my new projects and goals.
Full information is going to be coming over the next month, but I will let you all know now : Team League Season 7 is coming, just under a different name. The prize pool is going to match Season 6 as a base, with a lot of incentives for the community to help it grow. I will work hard to really just go one step up on everything this season, and I believe I can do that, as with each season that passes I learn more and more.
We're also bring back the Second & Third division, despite a few months ago me declaring them to be dead. They will be prized as well & will also have a lot more focus on them with their own dedicated content team for streaming etc.
That should be all you guys want to know for now, thank you for reading and to all the teams for a fantastic season. Let's do this all again in October
|
Sorry I missed the finals, didn't get back from work in time. Thanks for running the tournament Wardi and I'm excited to see what's in store next.

Let's do this all again in October like the great philosopher shia leboeuf said once, follow your dreams
good job so far

Hopefully we get more advertisement and stuff for it. Getting Blizzard on board for Bnet client advertisement and Twitter would go along way to making this season great.

Literally the only time it was, though and that account has been active since February or March. I would know, I checked for a different discussion on reddit.
