Kinda low for the global finals of proleague that happens once a year, don't you think?

I think Proleague is bigger for the sponsors, so they get more salary because of it instead of prize money

SKT has better depth/talent based on current form but KT players have a higher ceiling. SKT was also more talented and deep last year as well in the season playoffs

It's an absolute bummer that they are using this round playoff format for the season playoffs :/

That's not really true. SKT players made it to the finals of tourneys more times this year (Classic, soO, Dark and Dream). Individually, SKT is as good as KT (if not better).

that's exactly my point. SKT players have been playing better but I don't see them as capable of all-kills and explosive performances as KT players. Also KT I feel matches up better against SKT in an all kill format. Dark, Dream, soO, and Inno are probably 4 of the best 5-6 players in the TvZ/ZvT matchups but I would give our protoss a great chance against them.

tier 1 players

KT: Life, Zest SKT: Inno, soO

tier 2:

KT: Stats, Flash, TY SKT: Classic, Dream, Dark

they essentially cancel out and a bunch of these players bounce between the tiers based on form. SKT players have definitely been more successful this year and should be called the more talented team (barely) while I feel KT players have been severely under performing as a whole with respect to their talent.

Lets hope so... Anywhere we can check if these prizes are the same since like 10 years ago or they are decreasing because of the popularity issues?

nobody even cared about the prize money back in BW, but players who perform well get individual league top 3 level salary

Or it could be that SKT players fare better with preparation (normal proleague format, GSL and SSL), and KT players excel better in marathon tourneys (such as Life and Zest's IEM and Blizzcon wins, and today's all-kill format).

soO is on a slump and not tier 2 this year. I would put Classic up in tier 1 instead.

(Also, I keep thinking that Parting and Rain are SKT - nearly typed their names in my post above )

fair enough. i've been really disappointed in some of the coaching decisions and wonky build choices of KT players as a whole this year so that plays into the preparation angle.

Prize money has never been widely advertised in Proleague (and wasn't that widely advertised for BW Starleagues either if I recall), but I don't think SPL pays much less now than in the past.

Yes, agreed. Also, I've got a strange feeling that Life may suffer from being over-coached for SPL, and that somewhat stifles his style and performance.

I do wish Blizzard pay some attention to proleague and maybe help the teams of foreign league to actually have some team league, like WCTS XD
The way Blizzard going on completely ignoring proleague is kinda sad...

I want to see a true foreign team in PL. Even if they get stomped it would be great for player development imo. I remember how Snute was slumping so hard and went to Korea and destroyed GSL/SSL champions back to back.

A team of Snute, Lilbow, Bunny, and Mlord would be sweet even if they perform worse than Prime. They seem to have the work ethic and motivation for such a move. Maybe archon mode will be popular in LoTV and there will be a restructuring of the competitive SC2 scene.

That is an absurd statement. Proleague has done fine without Blizzard for 15 years. Why don't you focus on being happy for KT instead?

It's only the round 4 final, grand final gives 50,000,000

Kinda low for the global finals of proleague that happens once a year, don't you think?

I think Proleague is bigger for the sponsors, so they get more salary because of it instead of prize money

Lets hope so... Anywhere we can check if these prizes are the same since like 10 years ago or they are decreasing because of the popularity issues?

Prize money has never been widely advertised in Proleague (and wasn't that widely advertised for BW Starleagues either if I recall), but I don't think SPL pays much less now than in the past.

I do wish Blizzard pay some attention to proleague and maybe help the teams of foreign league to actually have some team league, like WCTS XD
The way Blizzard going on completely ignoring proleague is kinda sad...

That is an absurd statement. Proleague has done fine without Blizzard for 15 years. Why don't you focus on being happy for KT instead?

I'm being happy with it ofcourse, :D

Though some cash in won't hurt anybody would it?

I want to see a true foreign team in PL. Even if they get stomped it would be great for player development imo. I remember how Snute was slumping so hard and went to Korea and destroyed GSL/SSL champions back to back.

A team of Snute, Lilbow, Bunny, and Mlord would be sweet even if they perform worse than Prime. They seem to have the work ethic and motivation for such a move. Maybe archon mode will be popular in LoTV and there will be a restructuring of the competitive SC2 scene.

Or why not a one-off team tourney over the course of a whole week? 12-16 teams divided into 3-4 groups, then proceed to knockout. That way, all the top players can gather once a year!
