you are making the same mistake i did. it's a 6 point swing because samsung map score drops since they are playing each other. as long as KT wins 3-1 or 3-0 samsung map score will drop to +1 or 0, while KT even with the penalty is +2 or +3. sbenu does need to win to make it through.

I never managed to get past book 5, trying to read it in english but i get super bored at that book every time and just end it :/ Been there 4 times so far haha

what a coincidence. i'm on book 5 as well. on my re-read however 
i always felt the first novel was the most boring and difficult to get into but after finishing the series and re-reading it, it blows my mind that the author had the whole series mapped out by the first book. that series is an absolute work of art. hope you enjoy it. it's really heat breaking and i love the characters in the book.

Malazan isn't for everyone. Heavy on exposition (though exposition is handled entirely differently from how most others handle it) and philosophy and dark enough to make anyone lose hope in the future. The payoffs are immense, though, they're extremely good stories, but they're entirely different from the Wheel of Time.

How far in did you get? Midnight Tides is probably one of my favorites in the series, though at least as much for its differences. The series goes back to familiar ground after Book 5 and gets more "explosive" from Bonehunters and onward.
