10:00 herO 61 vs Dream 80 Colossus production begins for herO. Dream is still producing MMMM. A reasonable force of bio begins to move across the map, which is spotted by phoenixes. Dream starts his third base. Colossus range is being researched. Concussive shells and combat shields are both finishing, and stim has been done for some time.
12:00 herO 74 vs Dream 111 Dream moves into the natural and doesn't do much, so retreats. He kills the phoenixes upon leaving, but loses a medivac. Blink isn't finished, but extended thermal lance almost is. Dream attacks again before the latter finishes and herO loses both colossi. Manner MULES are landed. herO GG's! Dream takes a 1-0 lead!

I don't want to upset any hero fan but I am happy that Dream is playing so well today. I think hero will raise his level though and has the ability to tie the series with brilliant play.

Dream seems to excell in SSL and longer series specifically and herO looked like trash in a completly different mu. I mean even in Football you have top teams losing to random scrubs and shit and looking amazing next week.

herO is playing like shit but Dream isn't really missing a step. he's capitalizing on the early game damage. i feel like this is Dream's biggest strength. he doesn't give opponents an opportunity to come back into the game. way too solid.

No, hellions aren't standard because they're pretty easy to counter with a few more units. Because terrans know that, protosses feel like they don't need a few more units, and I guess herO can't be bothered to build them today.

dream played very well in that game. I don't think hero or his fans should feel bad, it looked like he had an off day and dream had prepared very well for this game. hero is still an awesome player as is dream. I still think these players are very close on skill level.

He split his army, and lost because Dream dropped everything on top of his colossi at the third. Yeah, he shouldn't have lost 10 probes to that widow mine drop in the natural, but the point is you can't fight the whole terran army with just half of your army.
Widow Mines doing such work vs Blink/Colossus composition.. mb it's time to Cannon up inside 2 bases, make Storm and hope Terrans refuse to make Ghosts.

well i knew that herO could tilt and be emotional. he was pretty close to breaking in his bo7 against Dark as well. he started screaming at his coaches etc. but jesus what a demolition. now PartinG is the only hope against Dream.

Lol no, herO should have taken all 3 Collosi to the natural and wait for reinforcements, kill as many units as he can, lose 3rd and go for the old "you sacrificed all army for my 3rd and now I will crush you". He didn't do it, he lost. It was a HUGE mistake, he should have known that this base is lost with this type of attack.
He lost 10 probes in his natural, he could not use the 3rd properly anyway...
Also herO never placed any cannons in his mineral lines even though Dream was using mines and drops heavily from overgrowth. (first 2 games were done after the first helion run by)

herO's big weakness is that he just makes too many stalker in TvP. If you're gonna make that many stalkers, you better do a lot of damage in the midgame or trade them efficiently, otherwise good Terran control in the late game will just crush stalkers.
I'm not surprised at the results, the ro16 in both SSL and GSL are just so insanely stacked this season that any player is capable of sweeping the other if they find one weakness, and Dream's playstyle countered herO perfectly today. The standard of play amongst the top Koreans now is way higher than it's ever been in SC2, and we're being treated to some of the best ever games in GSL, SSL and Proleague.

i'm in my mid 20s and already feeling the effect of this. in my early 20s and teens i could just go to the gym for a month and get super fit. took 4-5 months this time and i plan on maintaining properly. doesn't help that i've been recovering from surgery and eating coldstone almost every day for the last week

That's the best thing about his run, it wasn't fluked or anything. He just played better than everybody he met.
herO's coaches simply suck. Ever since Life cheesed herO out with burrow movement roaches in GSL, opponents have been going for non-standard builds against herO, and herO's coaches have come up with absolutely squat for herO ... all they seem to have for him is "Keep going pure macro herO, you'll be fine!"
As far as I can tell most coaches don't help with individual leagues beyond a few cases (Ryu Won, Catz, Choya). Everyone else just has to figure it out on their own.

Star players swap teams all the time, companies care about brand exposure the most, people are much more likely to cheer for a team in a team league than they are in an individual league (where they cheer for individual players). Honestly having a player that drives attention and fans is worth alot more to a sponsor than individual league success.
Dream just completely out-prepared him. Dream showed absolutely no strategy in the previous day's GSL. He did CC first two times, I think. herO used his builds the day before. I think it's smart for Dream to not show strategy in a less important match: even if he loses a Ro16 group match, he can still potentially make it out of the group, whereas advancing to the finals of S2SL means a lot more guaranteed cash and he cannot afford to lose. It also proved that herO absolutely mauls passive CC first openings, which means "don't do this in S2SL".
After Dream won the first two games in S2SL in such a manner that completely caught herO by surprise, I felt the match was already decided as herO was broken mentally. I'm even gonna go so far to say that be prepared to see him go into a slump, as he copes with the trauma.
