Not the best scheduling. June 2nd is the day Heroes of the Storm comes out, so we might lose some viewership because people will be wanting to play/watch that. But all in all, I personally am super excited for this and i think i give snute the small edge, 35-31 is my prediction.

Well Heroes of the Storm is already in the open beta so anyone that want can play it already, but I think that there will be massive server issues because of Heroes of the Storm release date.
BO69 holy moly. Need a team of LRs to keep this going! I will do my part for sure GL all on winning something. That brand new HTC M9 seems pretty intriguing!

If people prefer to play HotS, it's okay, we don't need these lost sheeps, only true diehard fans with #passhun.
Snute 35 - 34 Bunny plz! This is going to be intense. I have a feeling towards the end the games are going to get really silly, really fast though. I don't envy them for having to play so many high level games in a row.

The previous thread was made before we had any idea this was a big deal event. Some miscommunications were made.
I bet it is going to be really lopsided either way, I don't expect a player to be behind more than 6 games make a comeback, for example. But having a best of 69 is just funny, not because of the specific number, but because it will take so long. I will watch some of the games for sure.

Surely this is not being played all at once..? I'm pretty sure after the first 5 games or so, it's going to be an all-out cheese fest. I'm expecting at least 30 all-ins.

Nah man I remember watching the entire bo69 with Snute and BabyKnight. The games were decent even in the later games. I would imagine it's going to be the same here.
I'm so excited for this you guys. I tweeted Nazgul about an idea, but I'll post here as well to see what you all think.
So what if to raise awareness and to do something cool for someone else, we did a "Donate $X/map played" or some other metric to raise money for a charity? People in the US do this all the time when they do 5k's, etc. They ask people to pledge $2 per mile or $10 for every minute they make it in under a certain benchmark or whatever. You could do $50 for every game played beyond set 60 or something like that too. Not sure how feasible it is, so there may be limitations.
I'd be willing to do $1-$2 for every game played to a cool charity I think. Anyways, I can't wait to watch (once I wake up) since I know it'll be going well into my normal day haha.

I wonder how many times we're gonna see the same cheese.
I want to have a betting pool for the number of games won by a player under 7 minutes long or something. I bet we'll see lots of 2 rax, especially if the map pool pulls any #dreampool maps or something similarly cheesy.

Didn't this already happened ? Pretty sure I saw grubby do this with someone else..
I believe so. I think that Kaelaris solo-casted Snute vs. Grubby maybe? I can't remember haha.
This supports my theory that half of Grubby's popularity is on his looks.
I'm predicting 35-26 Bunny. I feel like if they played 7 different bo9s on different days, Bunny would take them pretty convincingly. However, I feel that the simple mechanical nature of macro Zerg play, especially if Snute draws Bunny into 4M play, will perform much better as the players tire.
mmm i predict 42 out of the 69 games will be cheese, at least one game will end up in a draw, and someone's shirt will be off by the end of the stream.

Video game addiction, a real worldwide problem?
On June 05 two Swedish* professional gamers died after reportedly playing for over 72 hours straight with little breaks in the game Starcraft II, the sequel to the popular series Starcraft. Authorities say that both passed away reportedly from cardiac arrest from exhaustion, exacerbated with poor air quality due to electric fans being continuously run during their game session**. The two, Jin Asgard and Patrick Bricks, reportedly were playing to try to entertain game enthusiasts in a streaming marathon, but ignored medical advice to take breaks for water, drinks, and sleeping from concerned netizens, saying "Gotta make that YOLO 69" at the 68th hour.
Dr. Lee of the University of Seoul warns of the streaming culture. "This story is particularly tragic as the world has reported on the addiction of gaming in South Korea in the past, with deaths involving the Starcraft franchise. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/technology/4137782.stm But while game addiction continues to be a problem, Dr. Lee also warns of streaming addiction.
"We live in a mobile age now, with the average korean year 8 pupil consuming 28 hours of streams per day." When asked for clarification, he said "most pupils watch streams on their phones in school and in studies, having a 'split screen' view to watch games, mokbangs, and continuous loops of STYLE START SBENU."
"In reality, pupils now are becoming addicting to stream watching, in addition to playing League Of Legends and mobile games."
Parents are advised to watch out for the warning signs of a game addict: being slow to wake up in the morning; dropping below the top 10% of their class rank; laughing and seemingly being happy with life; spending time on the computer or phone
*editorial correction: It has been brought to the attention of the Chosun Ilbo that the gamers from Denmark and Norway **editorial correction: It has been brought to the attention of the Chosun Ilbo that electric fans did not contribute to their deaths.

Kinda cool -- maybe make the last 3 games LotV if you get to it (map removed from pool once used, loser pick?). Or maybe play them in (reverse?) chronological order ^^
But if you want to mix it up maybe throw in some GSL maps.. and definitely some TLMC finalists (all the top 3's?).
Mapmakers want you to use some of their maps, btw xD
Fruitland, Crazy Clash, New Polaris Rhapsody. There's your other 3 maps.

Sorry, but why the warning? 69 is the most immature number they could have chosen for this format. It's embarassing to be a part of a scene that does this sort of thing.

bo67 or bo71 would be wicked though.
Warning was because of our policy against twitch memes.

With each tap on the keyboard, he grew redder and redder with shame, embarrassment. 6...9? Even he made the connection immediately at the obvious double-entendre the title was unsubtly hinting. Embarrassing? No, he had a better word he could use: EXPLICIT! ALL CAPS! In red! Yeah, he could write that! He could out this organization for its obvious vulgar approach to an otherwise cool idea!
Wait! V-U-L-G-A-R! Vulgar! Yes, Vulgar. It was more than just a letter V 4-pointer in Scrabble! It was an apt description of this idea. It was vulgar, shameful, explicit! All of these worked and he knew he had to make his point clear that he was embarrassed, blushing with extreme discomfort.
How did they manage to loop HTC into such an awkward thing? 69? Come on! Why not 67? 71? Those don't invoke such shameful thoughts that requires approval by my left (right?) hand. This is all very disgusting, if only they played 2 games less or 2 games more, then I'd be okay with it.
But this 69? With my two favourite players that the community sometimes overtly gushes about them in a homosexual way? No, unacceptable! I'll only watch the first 68 games, but the 69th? Heaven's no.

I'm not sure how serious people are when they say this but please no. Upvote systems are terrible

Also, how did they drag these two players into doing this?
Is there a good prize for the winner?
probably because they both enjoy playing Starcraft so they were not "dragged" into it, and prize is specified in initial post
Hm, they specify the fan's prizes, I can't find what the players get.
Still its got to be quite taxing and not exactly proper practice to play a bo69
Look like there's a tip jar that is split 69%/31% (shows that on BaseTradeTV stream), not sure if there was additional money put in. But of course, keep in mind that HTC is a sponsor of TL so I'm sure there's other things behind the scenes going on too.
Edit: This was just posted in the Twitch chat by BaseTradeTV, so guess there's no initial prize pool.
Snute and Bunny are full of passion, they are crazy and agreed to play without a prize pool so we're trying to create one for them. Please click their beautiful faces below if you want to add to the tip jar. The prize will be split 69%/31%

This was Snute and Bunnys idea to do this, and the prize pool was over $3,900 all donated while the tournament was going. They were going to do it for free but Rifkin had the idea to create the prizepool this way. The bo69 lasted a little over 19 hours with the final score being + Show Spoiler +
