I mean, yes, there are options to defend, but they do come at opportunity cost ESPECIALLY versus the greedy 4th/macro hatch timing of Dark combined with the creep spread.

Clearly plogamer knows better how to counter attack with speedlings than all Zerg progamers that supposedly don't do it as often as they should

I agree, Zergs should counter-attack more. I'm saying in this specific game instance, given what happened with the Reaper/Hellion harass, the lack of early stunting of the creep, and the early timing of all that extra Larvae production with the 4th and macro hatch, Maru didn't have the option to invest in defenses, he needed to break Dark and keep the army on his side of the map by force. Especially when you look at his minerals during that push and they're always super low. Even his fourth base was a little later than usual because he made the decision to go so hard at Dark. So, in this situation, I don't believe Maru felt or calculated he could take the time and money to invest in defensive things.

pretty much the same thing could be said about Zerg's not counter attacking as much - if they do counter attack in any meaningful way, they instantly lose if there's a full bunker, maybe a widow mine, and the push at the same time, so you can only do that in low numbers or when the game's going passive, which is what Dark does (or go full Leenock/TRUE and make 60 banelings before making mutas)

Lings can be pulled back from bunkered positions and cut off reinforcements, or go for a flank/surround. You're grasping for straws.

Full bunker = 4 marines, 4 supply, 200 minerals, 100 minerals for bunker itself. A mine there? That's one less mine at the fourth.

...it's like you do the same, bro. I never said ling run-bys are bad, but no, I don't agree that pro Zerg players don't know that speedlings are fast - if they don't do run-bys, maybe it's better to think "why" instead of saying it's a mistake

Top pro Zergs do it, that was my point. See Life, and currently Maru.

Life does a lot of things, and what Dark did in the second game, literally every good Zerg player does
