So sad for soO.. It really is unbelievable how he has not won, yet always makes it to the finals. I guess I'm happy Inno finally got his GSL trophy though, just wish the games had been better!

No, if you lose five finals in a row while being the best player in the world for at least 2 of them, it hurts you no matter what. There is no competitor who wouldn't be hurt by that.

nah

Do you compete in anything yourself? I feel like there is often a disconnect between people who watch pro players lose in high-stakes situations that think "Well, at least he got there! He should be happy!" and the competitors themselves. Losing is tough, in finals (repeatedly) especially so.

if you cant handle losing you have an emotional problem you should fix

Can confirm

a lot of extremely successful people DO have emotional problems in regards to winning and losing. which is part of why they win a lot. michael jordan was more or less a psychopath, for instance.

Ya but MJ had talent. I don't. That's not for this thread though. GG Inno. Now let's get out of this stupid McDonalds

So you don't, then.

making assumptions about my life is not how you debate a point, that's ad hominem

but since youre so insistent, yes, i play both video games and real sports competitively

I'm going to go out on a limb and say you've never been close to the best in the world in either field though right? Nor came second 5 times in a row?

Actually. Psychopaths succeed more often because they don't feel nervousness and therefore don't have a regular emotional investment to the act. They just want to win and don't care.

emotional investment cuts both way. plenty of people perform better when the pressure is on them.

though, yeah, psychopath was probably not the right word for me to use.

Jaedong does not deserve to go to Blizzcon this year.

There I said it.

I'd seriously rather have either of those guys, OR Snute over Jaedong.

Well we'll have to wait and see I guess, we could even end up with Scarlett and Bunny at Blizzcon. I wouldn't mind that.

Scarlett going to Blizzcon would mean she won WCS AM this year and that would be fucking rad, ditto with Bunny.

Jaedong going to Blizzcon right now is just due to his traveling and the sheer number of events he's been to. His results in WCS AM have been terrible. The fact he's even in danger of losing his spot after how many events and free points he's soaked up just speaks enough on its own to how nonexistant his results have been this year.

He hasn't looked like a player that should be competing at the culmination tournament of the year at all this year. Let someone else more deserving have it.

It wasn't, but I see what you mean. Psychopaths do it for other benefits. The nervousness thing is a lot of the reason why girls get attracted to them.

It's definitely relevant in this case since you display a lack of understanding of how someone would react to losing in high-stakes situations like GSL finals where they want nothing more to win, and are expected to win.

It is always easy to say for someone random on the internet that it is so easy to handle losing.Especially if you yourself have never participated in a major competition.

Losing in a final is soul crushing. Period. Repeatedly even more so. You could see how soO got tilted in game 3.

I would not be surprised if he had flashbacks to previous finals.

I know that 2rax is not unbeatable but can people post recent videos of holding 2rax WITHOUT the terran screwing up?

I just need to be reminded how to beat it

help please? :/

Find a VOD of someone 2raxing Life

I said without terran screwing up...

Pull 4 drones, make sure none of them die, send 2 to make spine crawlers/3 if they pull scvs make a queen and some lings don't be afraid to sac the hatch in exchange for a massive flood of lings to instantly win the game, dont be afraid to run lings past to cut off the marines being made

ok what if the terran invests just enough to kill the hatch and then goes full eco mode like forgg did vs snute in their series?

Zerg will have no drones, only 1 hatch, tons of lings and terran goes 3cc behind supply depot wall?

Define just enough, like did he make 4 marines and float his racks back to his base or what?

forgg made like 8marines and kept pumping scvs back at home all the time

and Snute defended just like you said he should

Well I can say that going hatch drone drone pool is exactly the sort of thing 2 rax will catch out. Commentators said snute likes to defend by saccing the natural and flooding his opponent, and forgg was prepared for it. Idk if thats true or not, but I do not recommend making 2 drones before spawning pool.

if Hyun wins WCS AM he'll hold onto that 1st place spot. then we just have to keep MC out of the final or San from winning WCS and we'll get the #2 seed Zest vs #15 seed Innovation :D
