If TRUE wins his match I think it'll be cool to call this Dreamhack Stockholm: The Swarm Strikes back. So much Zerg starpower.

Fuck Korea. Fuck their insistence on going anywhere and everywhere to take the entire planet's money. Fuck their soul-draining Kespa, fuck their giant infrastructure advantage, fuck the inability of anyone not from that one goddamn country to realize their potential, and fuck all of the people who actually have the audacity to suggest that it's the foreigners who are entitled by wanting to make a living in their own damn country. Your "world" championships will have sixteen people from the same fucking country whose personalities have been manufactured by a community that bends over backwards to eliminate the REALITY of the faceless Korean. Fuck all of this.
Scarlett, Bunny, Huk, I am counting on you SO HARD. One of you HAS to win your region to reduce this complete and utter farce. User was warned for this post Damn those Koreans and their Starcraft gene that gives them unfair advantage over others. Oh, wait... Maybe it's just some hard work paying off. Ah, everyone's favorite steaming pile of BS, " Koreans just work harder". If you work twice as hard and twice as long outside of Korea, you'll be lucky to get have the improvement. Or was it just through dumb lazy luck that Jinro, Idra and Naniwa all made Top 8 in Code S, and Huk made Top 16, while they were living in Korea? What else is it? It's not like it's in their genes or something. Or is it? Oh my... Well to be fair, I don't think it is only about working harder. Foreigner living on his own in US or NA could not become as good as fast - it's the infrastructure it's all about. The coaches, the teamhouses, things like that. Mostly the coaches. And the attitude towards training they create. I think that's the most important stuff.

But... that's not really the Koreans fault, but the foreigners. How the hell is it their "fault" for not being born in Korea? You know: The Korean scene and infrastructure didn't just... happen. It was built up. Boxer built up taht scene with his own 2 hands. But... that's not really the Koreans fault, but the foreigners. it's literally no one's "fault," its just a thing. if you live in alaska youre probably not destined to be a volleyball superstar but that doesnt mean you need your hand held so you can compete against people who come from warm climates. its life. you arent entitled to choose to make your living on competitive gaming lol Well, not the best comparison, imo. While you can't really change the climate, infrastructure etc. could be built up. edit: ofc the culture helps as well. I won't even deny that, but again: that didn't just... happen. its a perfectly fine comparison, building up infrastructure is irrelevant to what im saying, the point is that you dont get to just choose something fun and cool to make your living on and you cant expect every career to be viable. esports succeeding in america/foreign areas is not essential to the functioning of society. you cant just make a living doing whatever you want, most people have to settle for what pays their bills

Sports culture. Being the best just isnt economical in NA. It is more so in EU and even more so in KR. Parting called it being a wild animal, but outside of Kespa, you basically need to be your own marketing machine.

I mean, soO had some pretty good GSL runs Not that i want to start a discussion about if GSL should award more points, i just would have thought soO would be up in points
IMO a big part of the problem, besides KeSPA not offering enough opportunities to their player to participate in tournaments, is that second (and third) place at the WCS tournaments is underrated in terms of points. There should be no situation where a player who has been/is in all 3 WCS finals of the year has to struggle for enough points to make it too Blizzcon.
A tier 2 WCS tournaments gets the winner 750 point and the runner up 500. That's 2/3 of the winner's points. The WCS tournaments itself get the winner 2000 and the second place 1000. That's only 1/2 if the first place points. If they raised the WCS second place points to 1400 (rounding up), soO would've placed without problems. Similar scenario for 3rd place points.
