It's pop music, it's generally innocuous and has a catchy tune and populated by manufactured handsome / pretty people.

I genuinely believe that most people in any society at any given time hate pop music, but because it's so innocuous no one is going to riot over it and there are always legions of fanatics willing to hurl shit at you for having different tastes. .
