Definitely untrue. Usually the whole articles are dedicated to justify the predictions, from what I read.
The thing is, I just don't find the value in that. If I had known (or could predict with enough confidence) a result before a event took place, that would reduce the excitement of watching considerably. I don't know what TL is trying to achieve by predicting other than providing members some fodders to talk about. (I guess that could help with readership)

i take it youre not much of a sports fan
every sport that gets covered in the newspaper has the exact same thing when their playoffs start where journalists make a preview writeup with their personal predictions, its for fun and yes to get the community talking
