Dude, did you watch the same fight I did?
Maru got maybe one of the Templar and all of the Archons and his army still got absolutely massacred, the supply difference at the end was at least 30.
EMP is totally good though right? Totally saves the Terran from certain defeat.

Being behind in army supply and upgrades did it. EMP is very good vs archons if you have an army to back it up. Of course he should have vikings but saying you don't need ghosts vs that comp is ridiculous

To add to what you're saying, even getting 1 emp on archons isn't much (in a battle of that size)
edit: essentially the ghosts were out way too late
really getting into the game, I wonder if taking the pocket 3rd would have been the better choice (can't be as easily harassed by the forward army) AND maru was probably hoping to do the same with his tanks (but Stats took the pocket base instead)

He got around 15 probes while getting his 3rd up. If he defended the counter drop a bit better he would have taken a slight lead. It was a decent move.

The army supply was even by the time the fight started, Maru was maxed out.
The upgrades is a legit problem but that's not surprising especially since Maru delayed his upgrades massively by opening with Siege Tanks and a Raven which sucks away all of the gas you would use in early upgrades.
