A runner 2-0'd by a legit GSL Korean? How shocking!

the term runner is probably the most stupid term ever

What does runner mean

some guy used it to describe the koreans who changed their wcs region from korea to something else. and they are obviously running because they have no skill etc

The people who use that term must be really sad every time Taeja obliterates a Kespa player.

All flukes, I assure you

He can't get to the finals of WCS America, do you really think he'd win GSL or be that notable if he never left Korea?

He did make two GSL semis, one of them at the height of BL/Infestor.

Competition is a lot tougher now though than when it was then

I don't agree. All the top players at the time were in Korea while now there has been some seepage into the different regions. Additionally the balance conditions were alot more unfavourable for terran then.

KesPA in WoL was pretty bad compared to KesPA in HotS, however.

People who say that do not seem to think their statement through....Oh right players have gotten better! Meanwhile Taeja has simply stopped getting better right? Also so sick of this ''Taeja would suck in KR'' yet he defeats players like Innovation,Zest etc all of whom are possible GSL champions and people just go ''Oh he was probably just jetlagged!''

Pretty much any player that left Korea for "easy money" because winning isn't what competition is about. Supposedly the Korean netizens despise them because they're A) cowards and B) bad.

C) Smarter.
D) Richer.

People hate it when other people are both smarter and richer

Eh, in Korea it's a lot more about the prestige not about money from what I've read.

Progaming is a short-lived career. Choosing not to take options that allow you to make more money in that short space of time is pretty dumb.

It's dumb from how we see it but from an entirely different cultural perspective it make no sense at all to someone.

I don't think you should speak for Koreans. Samsung is Korean, they definiately make more money than prestige.

Awesome match by Petraeus, so close.
Curious that we spend more time congratulating people who have succeeded than encouraging people who have not. 파이팅! ᕦ(ò_óˇ)ᕤ"

Haha, how about trying to pull that of yourself? Taeja won all the engagements after the initial attack that didn;t do any damage, if you couldnt come back after that then we would always gg after 7 minutes.

Taeja is top 3 Terran in the world, and Petraeus is not Soulkey or soO?

Doesn't mean that both players can't macro close to perfectly the first 10 minutes of the game

Taeja macro'd perfectly. Patraeus didn't. Taeja was up 20 supply when he pushed the third.

He wouldn't suck, he just wouldn't get as much press since people don't give people who make deep GSL runs as much credit as people who win foreign tournaments.

Liquipedia is wrong, there is only one premier tournament, and it's called GSL.

If we're following patterns of last 3 series, Petraeus will win this map and then Taeja will win the third.
