There's nothing more volatile about TvT now than there used to be, if you've ever played TvT on ladder these kinds of games are incredibly common.
It's just been more of the norm at the pro level to see macro TvT games played, but that wasn't the case today.

Better snap decision making and micro overall.
well the next step is to use build that are good vs banshees (raven and hellion marine medivac). Polt outplayed a bad taeja pretty hard this series; but that doesn't make good games.

I became a Polt fan in the GSL Super Tournament in part because of the TL previews, where in literally every round from the Ro32 forward, the articles said "okay you've had a good run but you're going to lose this time" and somehow it never happened.

The banshee patch was more than a year ago. Before that it was drop hellions vs drop hellions every game. TvTs were still good a few weeks/months ago.
Banshees aren't a problem. Taeja losing 11 SCVs to a single Hellion was. At least in that last game on King Sejong Station. That should not have happened at all.

Taeja played a Polt game, with lots of micro and multitasking. So yeah, Taeja is prolly better but he was outplayed. I understand if people hate coin flip wins, but those involved skill and proper execution so it was amazing.

Sure, but Taeja didn't get unlucky, let alone three games in a row. Taeja played well and took calculated risks, as did Polt. Polt just played better this finals.

bo advantage vs banshees are recent. Banshee vs banshee is actually decent despite being stupid, but marine/hellion/medivac vs banshee is random as hell.
