i would have liked to see the action that was going on off-screen. the minimap was much busier than the main screen.
Interesting game - would have gone quite a bit differently had DRG kept his 3rd base, so it kind of shows an opening with that build. 1/1 before speed and no baneling nest doesn't really give you the means to actually hold that base without showing all the slow lings that you are pooling up. a bit gambly.

the only other thing that was going were the 15~ lings that DRG still had left trying to run to the 3rd of solar and kill drones, in 2 attemps he got like 8 drones, but i think if i show 11 lings fighting 2 queens and a roach while 2 maxed out roach armies are fighting people will flame the hell out of me :D anyways i was thrown of by the bumpy start but will try to show all action next series i obs~
The production is so good, I hope the low viewer numbers doesn't put Red Bull off doing future tournaments! It's the racial makeup, not the production, that is at fault.

early pools seems like they are defended more often than not even vs 15h since people go 15h14p so often nowadays. Meta shift into no early pools inc so people can start doing greedy openers again so early pools can come back.

solar's lead was getting bigger and bigger, but impact took a great fight every time and stayed alive.
Did they ever mention that Solar had a 4th base for 5 minutes?

they did mention but i would have liked to know how many drones were mining it. didn't look like very many, but solar had econ lead for sure (and the supply count after every battle showed that, because solar was not dropping below 200 and impact was)

ended up very close game all going evenly, except solar had 2 extra queens and a spinecrawler. guess who came to help out in the fight when solar attacked? both queens and the spinecrawler. poetic.
i want to see impact go targa banes on this and blow up the hatch.

I guess the spine crawler contributed heavily to the win again by baiting in the roaches. Both players were really evenly matched; Solar rode the advantage he got in the first few minutes to victory.
Obviously Hydra knows English (as the guy isn't even translating for him) I wish he would just understand that we would much rather hear him speak probably bad english.

DRG playing some of the best SC2 of his career right now. On fire. Wouldn't be surprised to see a DRG vs Innovation Code S finals. Those two are the best Zerg and Terrans in the world right now. Never seen such high level play. This weekend did not disappoint.
Well if it wasn't going to be Pimpact I'm glad it was DRG winning and getting back to his best. It was a fun weekend, like Shellshock said, not something I'd like to see every week but it's a pretty fun format all in all. Props to James too, he really got through to the players personalities

Solar I think speaks the best english out of all the korean sc2 players I've heard. There's very little accent in his english and not a ton of pausing. However, while I think solar speaks better english than polt, he doesn't speak it as confidently as polt, but that may come with more practice. This was easy to tell when both solar and polt were interviewed at the same time. Polt just speaks it with more confidence, but solar speaks it a bit better in terms of clarity and stuff.
In OP in results it says DRG lost to solar and was eliminated. That's an error? (I scrolled down and it says both eventually, but it's confusing, I guess do challenged solar, lost and was down to one life not zero?

yes, DRG and Solar had 2 lives, DRG challenged Solar but lost, and was down to 1 life
DRG went 26 months from his last major tournament win (MLG Anaheim 2012 to put that in perspective) to now. I'm really curious to figure out what the longest streak is. Anyone know how I could do this or know of players who went through a longer drought?

I consider DRG to be among the most skilled players but he seems to have lost killer instinct ever since he's got rich from all the tournament wins. Hope he finds a new team that will rekindle his love for the game.

Rich is a stretch is what I wanted to point out. And more so how ridiculous it is to equate a subjective "lack of passion" with tournament winnings- meager winnings, I'd argue. Lebron James makes millions a year and you don't hear people argue about a loss of passion due to the insane amounts he makes (or any other athlete for that matter).
While 56k/yr is certainly not bad in your 20's, it's not much for being the top in your field. I made that as an entry level engineer with shite marks out of school. I also wasn't drinking Dom and driving a Ferrari.
