More suspense in the finals, if it was BO3, in the second match you wouldn't be sure if the second series was the last one (and you needed to hype it) or if there would be a third series to hype more. | ||

It's like that in football champions league as well. Bo3 is fairer as it is more protected from variance, i.e. the better team wins more often. But Bo1 is more exciting than Bo3 as the stakes are higher. Hence, this format makes it easier for the best teams to get to the finals, and the finals becomes one epic showdown. | ||
