part of his job is to tell the story or relay a narrative to the audience, day 9 picked a hot topic right now and ran with it to enhance the storyline of the event. you can disagree with the article or dislike the " terran is weak " narrative, but the commentators are doing their job as they should.

I think stuichu has the right to complain if the narrative is fundamentally dishonest. Commentators should be more careful with which narratives they choose to emphasize since their words will taken as gospel by casual fans. For Red Bull, the "terran is weak" narrative is shady considering the level of competition. Polt/Bomber/Violet were always going to be the favorites regardless of race. It was simply unfortunate that Violet had to face Bomber instead of Polt, otherwise he could have possibly made the finals.

Seriously, this is wildly inconsequential.

All races go through rough patches and pointing out that a race is currently doing so only adds to the story should a terran do well. You can talk about the different races being weak or strong without it being a complaint about balance.

Many undeserved WCS points were given to players..In the meanwhile Soo, three times GSL finalist and sOs, the last world champion is possible to not qualify for Blizcon this year. It's like this tournament was specially designed to have a TvT final... Yeah you have to blame the WCS system. It basically favours players who have access or are able to travel to respective countries to compete for points. It really shuts out Kespa players since they're limited to competing to Korea. Sad to see tons of good players missing out. But then again, i'm not surprised a Kespa will take the final championship.

I think the negativity is more on the part of Blizzards unwillingness to communicate with the community. Nobody really thinks (or shouldn't) that players are bad because hey play a certain race, just get an advantage. Not the players fault if there are flaws in the game. Blizzards seeming unwillingness to talk or hasty implementation of patches is what draws the ire of the community (in my opinion). I feel the biggest mistake they made with HotS was the huge Terran patches just after release, they should have trusted their balance team and waited for a meta to appear before they dove in with constant patches.

Look at the notable participant list again and find all the good koreans: http://wiki.teamliquid.net/starcraft2/2014_Red_Bull_Battle_Grounds:_Atlanta There you have Polt, Bomber and Violet.. Violet lost to Bomber in semis, all three of them made it to the semi's.

This tournament has no relevance whatsoever. Many of the players weren't even pro players. They were casuals LOL! The chick from Australia, Avilo, Destiny etc.

Hes saying the competition was weak and they were expected to win no problem. They are regular top players and this tournament did not present much of a challenge to them (see almost every game they played in they were dicking around)
