Golden is nowhere near top 10 Zerg, and Vortix is top 4 foreigner.
Not sure what to say other than I hope you enjoy your first time seeing Golden play?
He's not a top 10 zerg. What the fuck do you smoke?
should beat Vortix either way though.
Am sorry I meant in context of this matchup, you can maybe find 5 zerg to beat Golden in short series, you can't find 10.
Since when is Golden top-tier anything? Got a million e-sport dollars on the following killing Golden in ZvZ:
Life soO Soulkey Jaedong Hyun Byul Scarlett RorO Symbol DRG TRUE Solar Losira
Golden has swept a lot of those people multiple times and honestly some of those names are a joke compared to Golden, you need to see the guy play I'm telling you.

Golden is 10 - 38 in maps win against these guys (source : http://aligulac.com/ ). That's a 20% winrate. He has NO positive reccord against any of these players. The closer is against Scarlett with Golden having 4 maps win and Scarlett 5. I think Golden has never played better than now during his career, but still Golden is nowhere near top 10 ZvZ.. Not even top 20

Completely agree with you
I belive in Vortexa thing called roach
Actually I believe that the only two guys who could eventually pose a threat are Vortix and First, but only because Vortix could be relatively unknown (emphasys on relatively) and First has stayed under the radar... or Welmu, that is... but I don't see him going past first out of a gut prediction.

That was a terrible engagement by MC. Half of San's army was up the ramp which means that all of MC's zealots were clumped up on a small area. Honestly I was predicting MC to lose that engagement even without San having to pull probes.

Exactly. Actually MC didn't have any kind of army advantage, his +3 wasn't finished yet, he didn't have a lot more colossi/archons/immortals etc. Imo he should have just stayed home, get the gas at his third and maybe prepare tempest tech.

I'm probably one of the few to enjoy ZvZ matchup. the sounds of all those roaches squeeling as they die is music to my ears, plus the ling bling antics in early game :D

Sorry don't get me wrong, I absolutely love ZvZ to watch and play.
I just hate losing one of the zergs for definite this early.
Speaking of translators, who do you guys are the best in the industry accross all titles ? Chobra, smix, and susie get my vote, but im curious if there are better ones out there. Please don't say that chinese guy from TI3.....

The amount I like LRing/watching a matchup is inversely proportional to how much I like to actually play it. I like LRing ZvZ a lot. >.>

Didn't he say that if he won he would be able to play in Kespa Cup? Instead she said something like it would be his third WCS win?
Top two advance to the KeSPA Cup, yeah. Poor girl got thrown into the firing line quickly. Would have been better if reis or inuh was there to translate but I guess they aren't available (well I guess no inuh because no MMA).
But as someone who's been learning Korean for quite some time, from what I'm hearing she's obviously not that great at Korean. Her questioning sentences sound basic/dumbed down and her translation of responses are very condensed.

Also I love ZvT , best matchup in Sc2 imo.
oh right. yeah definitely agree with you there, on all points. ZvT ftw (really want ForGG to win his match)

I was thinking she didn't seem to be translating very well, but I don't speak Korean so it's hard to tell. Could have just been nerves as far as I can tell.
However, what I was also thinking is that the good thing about not being a known translator is that she probably doesn't read this, so she doesn't need to know about all the fire she takes.

Top two advance to the KeSPA Cup, yeah. Poor girl got thrown into the firing line quickly. Would have been better if reis or inuh was there to translate but I guess they aren't available.
"All the fire" is like 3 nerds bitching about something that isn't a big deal.

No, he over corrected and got unnecessarily aggressive (classic MC style) and San had incredible engagements to MC's near A-move and just got outclassed.

Because ForGG and Stardust/First get knocked out probably.
To clarify, ForGG and Stardust/First are less likely to challenge for a spot if Welmu makes the finals/wins.

Is it really? Honest question, I know Golden's path up until now wasn't the hardest but I don't recall Vortix being more than "good" in ZvZ, rather than absolutely dominating...

because you have overseers, which he build but his army was kept busy and he didn't split right. Vortix minimap awareness seems to not be the best, atleast most of the time I see him losing to those kind of plays.
ahh you remember when Golden and Sound were suppose to be the next big koreans? they killed it at MLG or whatever tourney it was; Golden is still doing fine it looks like, what happened to Sound?

That's my point, your overseers are busy, so make the spores. If he wasn't so behind in drones I'd say spore and spine but he didn't have 6 drones he could have committed to

It was Redbull Training Grounds 1. Sound I think had some personal problems. I think that's what Golden said.

I always assumed they invited Golden and Sound assuming that the foreigners could beat them and found it funny when the two of them smashed everyone.

On newkirk early on in HotS and PL before Solar was known. Solar went for roach hydra while Rain did a phoenix collosus build.
But Solar had hidden 4 overseers and perma contaminated Rain's robo and killed him with roach hydra.

I loved muta vs muta. Sure it's a numbers game, but it's so frikkin tense from ling/bane onward. There's no "build up" stage with roach vs roach and also you get those rare games were someone switches tech hoping to land that big fungal (Violet vs Leenock).

Here's the La Cucaracha lyrics, for all of you singing alone at home: "La cucaracha, la cucaracha, ya no puede caminar, porque no tiene, porque le faltan, las dos patitas de atrás"
Translation: "The cockroach, the cockroach, can't walk any more, 'cause it doesn't have, 'cause it's lacking, the two back legs"

Totally agree. Muta vs muta is usually a result of a ling/bane knife fight, and those are always fun. Mutas are just more interesting than roaches anyway,

If Vortix wants to win he has to fake a macro game and all-in so hard even duckdeok will be like damn. I'm retired and shit but I can feel someone doing a crazy all-in.

By that logic, all foreign hopes are false. They aren't, the problem is they have to play loads of even matches against Koreans to win. Even the best foreigners aren't crazy favored against good Koreans, so they eventually get taken out by one. Same happens to Scarlett, Snute, Naniwa,... It's a hard game, man.

It's not an uncommon though, but really, what would be the point? I imagine that stuff is so cheap for them to buy. I think they have such huge margins on drinks adding more water to save money would get them nothing.
It would make them more money. Do not underestimate the power of greed.

No, I just enjoy the refreshing taste of a fresh Coca-Cola so much
I swear Coke at McDonald's is 100 times better than coke in a bottle. I'm a pepsi man otherwise but got to have coke at McDs.

So it's up to the individual restaurant then? Not unsurprising.

Hah. I'm pretty sure that was sarcasm. We tend to hype Vortix to the moon here for our own amusement.

I noticed that they do outside of mid-america, especially Cali and East side. Also the few places outside like Korea and Mexico I've been to do the same. The sugar content is definitely higher in Michigan and places where they have lots and lots of fast food options.

tastes sorta like when you add ice cream to coke
Wtf is coke your main ingredient for everything?!? When I was six I mixed coke and ketchup and was severely punished by my parents, who forced me to drink that aberration... who knew someone would actively pursuit this... dunno, I can find a term other than demonology.

It's a bad idea to mix eggs with gasoline, does that mean you shouldn't make anything that has eggs as an ingredient?

You do realize there are countries in this world who don't do this, right? I first heard of floats when I went to the US and to this day I've tried it a total of one time, and I just learned that there's a similar thing with milk.

Yeah, I do. But I don't freak out over drinks endemic to other cultures, especially when they contain common ingredients that people typically think of as good.
Edit: One other thing. People react like this even when they're from a culture that knows perfectly well what a float is.

Some of those I've seen considered absolutely normal in places I've been. The first time you see some of those, you might be shocked. It doesn't mean you won't try them, of course. I'm curious about coke+milk now, for example!

I'm pretty sure I've tried the first four, although I'm not sure what kind of beer it was so I can't be actually sure. I think of tomato as being something that works really well when it's sweet and I enjoy tomato soup with various things in it. Although I would be suspicious about whether or not the combination works.

Baaaah If Welmu doesnt get through WCS EU not worth watching anymore... Plz just region lock EU and NA :/. I think after 3 years ppl knows that koreans are good. Just give some room to new players :/.

The only logical thing then is to race and region lock EU and NA. Only Terrans and no Koreans.

They should only do that if they give Koreans more tournaments in Korea to play otherwise there is no way that should happen.

I'd prefer not, then I'd have to go back to paying for the GSL VODS. I stopped paying them after they switched to Twitch since I wasn't really watching the vods anymore anyway. I only have time to watch one region properly, and I prefer watching live.

Foreigners finding new and impressive ways to get bopped in the bracket stage against Koreans. Why the fuck would you counter attack when you know you have a massive Eco lead if you hold the push. The 3 stalker warp in at ForGGs base is why he lost this

He assumed the push would be over and that Forgg was expanding behind it, in which case the counter is likely to finish off the game.

That's a good point. I guess Welmu was hoping he'd turn back...would have been safer to just fight though

A 3g Stalkers counter-attack is a common attempt at pressuring back after Protoss holds the gas first attack, but here Welmu didn't know that ForGG was not playing the normal expand into 3 rax Medivacs transition.

but those were some entertaining games. i'm less enthusiastic about the next matchup. PvP always seems so bland to me compared the the others matches. its like no matter who wins we lose.

Unless I'm mistaking, so do hellbats. I don't know the time they take to shoot tho. To be fair, I've got to admit that the stalker shooting animation is pretty long.

There's a matter of numbers. ForGG had like 6-7 Hellbats with Medivac support, Welmu had only 3 Stalkers and an Immortal; plus he was trapped in his own base. What I don't understand is why he didn't have a second Overcharge at 8'30; I suppose he had delayed his MSC at the beginning.

That may be due to how we've been ''groomed''. For example everyone hypes TvT and shit talks ZvZ and PvP as boring and bland making you think that it truly is bland and boring even if it isnt.

Marines without stim have the exact same movespeed of hellbat (2.25), more attack speed and 5 range vs 6 for stalker and you can hit and run marines with stalker without taking dammage. So vs a 2 range unit...
Just try 1 stalker vs hellbats on unit test map, you will see it's not hard at all. So for a progamer protoss...

I don't know personally. When castors were talking about forgg at dreamhack summer before his match with first, they mentioned he had a "very pretty European girlfriend". I just assume frech because he was living in france, I didn't know he returned to the german team house.

But in this case there were so much more hellbats than stalkers. AND hellbats and stalkers started running from same spot. Welmu was not 6 range away. He was 0 range away. Also for 1 stalker it takes ages to kill hellbat

Forgg is actually my 2nd favorite of the 3. While he's isn't "skilled" as mma or jjakji he's alot more creative, as you can see today. He even mechs vs toss on certain maps.

Basically Parting would have used 1 stalker to kil 10 hellbats and 8 marines and win the game.

Can't wait. And not just because of the 4 terrans either, though it's very helpful. I love everyone there. Maybe not so much Pigbaby but only because he's new to me

Not really the reason. Main reason that most of best strategies are very frustating/boring/disgusting to watch. Definitely Blizzard's mistake. Only Vortix and Golden are worth to watch for me by that top8.
I really wish WCS NA begins right now.
Personally not much of a fan of roaches vs roaches, but to each their own.

There have been tournaments that have attempted to help the NA scene (Shoutcraft AM, this past MLG had most all pool spots open to non-Koreans only) and they have failed for a variety of reasons (viewership issues, player controversies, the foreigners getting rekt by even a low number of Koreans)

Quite many people want to see local players.
Maybe the local players should play better then. This is not some local tournament, it's the world championship series, you don't get far in that without being the best, which they clearly are not.

While I agree with your overall point (local players should play better) the WCS system isn't the best example. Its ridiculously flawed for showing local talent in each region. Europe significantly less so, as I believe 29 or 30 of the premier league players actually live in Europe.

So we have to change the name of the tournament. Why call it EU or NA or KR? We call it WCS and not talking about regions who means nothing :/.

We wouldn't be so ready to adopt Polt and Violet as North American if it was about race.

Again, the whole premise of "foreigner = white" is simply factually innacurate, as you can see from NA pros Suppy, Illusion, Masa, Hendralisk, Catz,
Let me rephrase.
Relevant WCS-class foreigners.
All of those except Catz were in Premier this season.
"were"
I guess the RO32 counts yes.
"I guess" lol
Premier is premier.
arguing with tb doesn't lead you anywhere
In an LR thread, at least. He's rarely, if ever, serious in an LR, and he'll gladly drag things out for the fun of it. Outside of LR, he'll have a proper talk when he feels it's warranted, and he'll usually be right.

Get away from here with your facts.
Here's some more facts.
Every one of those players was eliminated in the RO32.
Between them, those players have a combined mapscore of 7 wins and 17 losses, taking only 2 series total between them, both of which were against foreigners.
Turns out facts are pretty good, I agree.
I'd call someone a WCS class player when they have the ability to reach the RO16. Winning 1 BO5 in a potluck series to reach the Premier league does not make you a WCS class player, winning in WCS Premier league and at least going one round into the tournament does.
I wouldn't count out Golden against San just yet. His playstyle this season can best be described as "tenacious" - he will not give up until it's well and truly over.

Not even Artosis is enough to knock San out this time.
