I had to google what that was. Seems like it would be helpful. I don't know about your teapot, but in China they just rinse it with water to clean it so that the taste accumulates overtime.
My coffee grinder is like that. I rinse it with water but over time it gets that nice earthy rich coffee vibe and enhances the flavour of whatever bean I grind in it.
