Its not my fault Sniper burned down Christmas in 2012.
I didn't think I'd actually summon you.
Stuchiu is eternal.
stuchiu arriving in a thread is like the kramer entrance on seinfeld except 10pool speedlings bust through the door and instead of "hey buddy" they say "EEH EH UH, RAAAAAAAAH"

Take that back.
Author of Books which were Adapted into a Cheesy Soap Opera for Men Who Want to Pretend They Aren't Watching a Soap Opera because it involves Gruesome Fantasy (But It's Definitely A Soap Opera)
I thought the Soap Opera for men was wrestling?
pro sports in general, really
but game of thrones is now here to challenge their market
I think the TV show sucks, especially this past season but the books are very good.
The TV series has always been over-rated, IMO. The books are good though, at least until Feast for Crows.
aFfC is noticeably weaker than the rest but I still think its good relative to most books. It's just dull imo.
Yeah, I stopped reading the series at the point. I feared GRRM was doing a Robert Jordan and losing control of his story (heck, GOT was originally intended to be 3 books). I hear Dance with Dragons is good, so I may get back into it. But, given the expansion of the story and characters, I'm not sure that I care enough anymore.
A lot of my favorite moments are from dance.
Hmm, thanks. That does make me more inclined to get back into it. I'll just have to trudge through Feast, I suppose.

Would you say that the entire series would be worth reading, or just a little bit, or barely worth reading if I have something better? I've been looking to get into that (thanks to peer pressure) but don't really know.
Difficult to give advice on a series of books to another.
But, if pressed, I'd say that I recommend the series, but I don't strongly recommend the series. There are better reads.
GOT is about 3 1/2 stars out of 5 for me (in SC2 LR terms).
I generally don't give ratings on books. I just give recommendations based on what I know about the person and their taste. If you told me other books/movies/tv/anime/comics you've read/watched I can give you a decent idea of how much you'll like it.

Polt is the GGRR Martin (or however it is written) of SC2.
Just say GRRM

Yeah, its become a total soap. But has a few redeeming scenes, and tits. So your argument is invalid.
Any fiction that revolves around human relationships in some form is a soap, it's just a matter of quality. Modern fantasy is generally quite shit, so any good authors are worth their weight on gold.

When I re read it, I just skipped the boring chapters and wiki'ed the rest.

I don't think AFFC was bad just very slow and boring compared to ASOS which was an absolute blast. It has it's own merits on the focus on the aftermath of everything and some nice character development.
