Technically, shouldn't that ignite the gas vent resulting in a massive explosion?
Make it happen Blizzard.
It would be like the battle of Helm's Deep with the one Uruk-Hai with the bomb running towards the drainage tunnel, except it's a gently humming probe holding a gas container. Sounds like a carbot episode.
Is Vespene combustible? Was this ever addressed in the books?
There are Starcraft books? On second thought, don't answer that. Anyway it's gas, unless the laws of physics are different in the SC universe, it should be highly combustible.
There are books, I've not read them myself but just because its a gas doesn't mean it is flammable. I am siding with vespene being inert.
I've never heard of a gas that isn't flammable.
The fact that someone actually wrote books about this game concerns me. Deeply.
Nitrogen is non-flammable, just like Neon ... You're not a scientist, aren't you ? :D
Anyway, lots of gases aren't flammable (Inert gases) others don't burst but can oxidize and force a combustion.
Just imagine if every gas was flammable. If you ever lit a match, the world would end.

Good way to discourage arson I suppose.
God forbid you had a suicidal arsonist in that world.

Why?
They are kind of in the same vein as the Star Trek books, stigmas to be attached to them by most people.

Don't see a problem with people expanding the universe of StarCraft as long as it's canon or doesn't break any lore in the games. Writers gotta make a living somehow.
