desRow, currently playing for Asus, is the Canada's captain.
Hello desRow. Your opponent is Germany, which is a strong country in NationWars. Are you happy with the draw?
desRow: "Germany is one of the best countries in Nationwars and so is Canada. It could have been easily a semi finals or grand finals match. Drawing Germany first wasn't a concern since we're aiming for first place and to win, you have to be better than everyone."
Can you introduce the Canadian team to the Starcraft II community?
desRow: "I think the canadian team is one of the few teams that doesn't need an introduction at all.
HuK and Scarlett have been in the spotlight in most of the major tournaments in sc2's history. HuK was considered the best foreigner for quite a while and
Scarlett rivaled every achievement Naniwa had last year making it a dream rivalry.
As for myself, I've been an active streamer and contributing member of the sc2 community making guides. Recently, I've become a better tournament player and reached WCS Premier Season 1."
What is the key to win this match? What is the detail which will make your team win?
desRow: "The key to winning this match is the fact that we have 2 ace players. We also have a lot more versatility than germany when it comes to reviving someone."
Interview with HasuObs, the captain of the Germany:
HasuObs, currently playing for Mousesports, is the Germany's Captain.
Hello HasuObs. Germany reached the playoffs in the last edition. How is the German squad?
HasuObs: "Hello, we are doing fine we are looking forward to play in this edition!"
Your opponent is Canada, which is a new country in NationWars. Are you happy with the draw?
HasuObs: "I would say Canada is a very hard draw for the first round and the tournament format changed a bit (there used to be a lower bracket last time) so were not allowed to make any mistakes if we want to make it as far as last season, or even further!"
What is the key to win this match? What is the detail which will make your team win?
HasuObs: "Win four maps, win four maps... The line-up of Canada is very well rounded, with Scarlett and HuK they have two very expierenced players and Desrow is one of the upcoming Protosses of NA. For our team: our racical distribution is perfect, TLO as zerg, Heromarine as Terran and myself as a Protoss, i hope that will give us the edge we need to succeed!"
You did not participate to NationWars I and you joined the German squad instead of Socke. Do you think you can strengthen the squad and help Germany to do better than NationWars I ?
HasuObs: "Yes, this time i got elected by the community nd iam very happy about it! I think that Socke and myself have a very different playstyle, but are almost equally strong. Its hard to predict if we can do better than in Season 1, but we will do our very best."
Nerchio is currently playing for Team Acer and was elected by the other Polish players as a captain.
Hello. Nerchio, you were one more time elected as the captain of Poland. What did you think about the performance of your country during NationWars I ?
Nerchio: "We were not satisfied how we did in season 1 but we were unlucky to fight against such a strong team early in NationWars I. We had to face Norway that i think went on to the finals and we wasn't really confident against their line up but this season it should go much better for us."
You will play with two zergs for this edition since Tefel substituted Diestar. Is the team stronger this time or do you prefer a balanced team with a player from each race?
Nerchio: "I think our line-up is a little bit stronger this time because Tefel has a lot of experience in international tournaments and he also managed to qualify for WCS Premier League this season so I think our chances to win are higher. It doesn't really matter what races the players are unless you got a team of all players from the same race."
Poland is facing UK tonight. What do you think about your opponent?
Nerchio: "They are definitely within our reach and if i had to be honest we will probably win 4-0 or 4-1 depending who will be our first player. UK line up is not weak by any means but I think we have players that are more successful and well round-up so we should be confident to take this."
Interview with Tidus, the manager of United Kingdom:
Tidus is currently managing for Mousesports and is the British captain.
Hello Tidus. You were elected by the UK players as the manager of your nation. What's your feeling before the beginning of the competition? What do you want to bring to the UK squad?
Tidus: "Myself and the rest of the team are anxious for our upcoming game. Team Poland is one of the strongest teams in the tournament so it is essential that we bring our A-game and pull out the victory. As soon as I heard about Nation Wars, I was determined to round up the top 3 UK players and really show our nations strength which is something we haven't yet done in a team format. The team has been working together to try and create the best team synergy so we can give the match our full attention and our best shot."
Your opponent is Poland, which is one of the biggest nation on Starcraft II. Are you happy with the draw?
Tidus: "Well i'm not a huge fan of the format for this nationwars cup as it is quite harsh. I feel we have recieved one of the toughest draws, but we will try our best to win and hopefully we can come through with a victory."
UK is one of the biggest community in the world. People should expect a lot from you. Do you feel any pressure?
Tidus: "UK is indeed one of the largest esport communities. As far as players go, we have always been on peoples minds but never usually at the very top. We intend to change that. The top UK players have consistently managed to establish themselves as strong players and now we aim to show off the UK's talent as a nation. We don't feel an incredible amount of pressure as many would consider us the underdog. However we are confident and will come out and give everything we have to give in the match against Poland."
If you want to watch the match with friends in a bar, check out the BarCraft i am hosting in Aachen! We will watch the match Germany vs Canada! More information (in german) here: http://barcraft-aachen.de/?p=737
Should be a really interesting fight, Germany has a really strong team one of the few teams with three very strong players. It will all come down to how well Scarlett is playing.....

looking forward to this my head says poland have prettymuch got this but my heart has faith in good ol blighty! blings been in good form recently and im hoping demuslim can pull it out the bag too thats probably wishfull thinking though
Come on BlinG, Jonny and Demu! Poland is gonna be tough but Ukraine are so beatable it's would be a good opportunity to get through to Le Trianon if we can win today.
Definitely gonna be tough to take out MaNa, Nerchio and Tefel though, no doubt. :/
You got to feel bad for Tefel because he keeps on throwing these massive leads, but at the same time, it's always him that throws these huge games, and you know there is something off in his playstyle that keeps on causing this.

tefel is a much better player than i am, but i think it's safe to say he's literally "that dude who made it to GM doing the same thing over and over until he got really good at it" and that thing is roach/hydra

The meta isn't that bad. It seems like slight map based imbalances, nothing major or fundamental
zerg has to make significant mistakes for terran to do anything with bio
I'm not saying that the balance is perfect, but having come from the dark days right after the queen patch, where the ZvT winrate was something like 80-90% at the top level in the month after the patch became active, it's not too bad. I think if the maps were changed a bit, then the balance would be restored.
So we have the north in the first quarter, the east in the second... if this continues, Deutschland will surely lose so we will have the west in the third quarter and Italy vs. France representing the south in the fourth quarter final.

TLO won the EU MLG qualifier, though! :D
Makes for a good story arc for the Nation Wars.
If I remember correctly, the MLG EU qualifier was a bit of a farce though. Not to take any thunder from TLO, it wasn't his fault that few entered the competition and quite a few forfeited.
this is gona be a good one, hopefully a closer contest than the earlier matches scarlett seems to be back on form and with that i think canada have a good shot of taking this that said german definatley has one of the strongest lineups

Even as a zerg player/fan, I concede TvZ is really hard for terran atm.
As a spectator, honestly the only Terran that matters in the last 6 months is Maru.
Bbyong s doing really well lately
Was doing well. He got eliminated in Code S ro32 by a rather unaccomplished zerg (Dark). That leaves us with Maru.
I have a tiny bit of hope for Innovation, and Flash, TY, Bbyong and to a lesser extend Supernova and Cure have all been doing pretty decently.
Doing decently where? Winning bo1s in Proleague? Out of the 6 players you listed only Innovation made it into ro4 of a premier tournament in 2014. And even then he farmed this run on a bunch of foreigners (Ancestor, Morrow, Huk, Snute, Welmu and Bunny).

Mouz removed Dear from the team saying they wanted to focus on Europe after only being on the team for like 3 or 4 months. Coincidentally his release announcement came the same day he fell to Code B

He was dropped from mouz the same day he lost in Code A, not because of that though.
Yeah it was decided before that, main reason is a change in the management I think. They want to focus on Europe, while Wake the old manager was the main force behind signing Dear. That was really bad timing.

i'm really trying not to start this argument but... a hellbat is a man in a suit... same exact thing as a marine or marauder...
and besides, logic doesn't exist in video games and doesn't matter to balance so it shouldn't be considered at all

I would like to see Innovation take a shot at it
One baneling for every bio unit, although that would make the attack much worse for the zerg.
Rumors say that Vortix and Mouz cannot agree on something like his brother an year ago. If this becomes true, Vortix will be the 4th player dropped by Mouz following Hope, Mana and Dear. This will leave them with only Hasuobs and Heromarine. No one knows what plans if any Vortix has for his sc2 career.

Well you can look at it this way or you just say it's a hellion transformation. And also if you just say there's a Human in it, every Terran Units should have to be biological
Other than that: I'm no Terran player but removing the Bio-Tag would also make it better against Archons, no? Or did the Archon make extra damage to light units?

archons do bonus to bio but banelings do bonus to light, so removing bio from hellbats would actually make them slightly worse against banelings as medivacs wouldn't be able to heal them

i mean if you're still going to listen to the music privately, whatever, it's just music. but i wouldn't publicly defend it or publicly play the music because i think it could legitimately upset people for pretty good reason
Or you could grow a pair and stop being a hypocrite, because you understand that listening to music has nothing to do with whatever a band member does in his life.

??? ok dude? to me listening to music is partly about making a connection with the feelings and ideas the musicians are expressing, and i'm pretty uncomfortable with the idea of making an emotional connection with a man who rapes babies. and furthermore, i think it's pretty reasonable to expect people, especially people with children, to be upset by the promotion of a baby rapist's commercial art. i never said you have to agree with me and there's certainly nothing hypocritical about thinking it's pretty chill to ostracize baby rapists and avoid upsetting people. not sure why you're so angry that i take moral offense to baby rape, but regardless i think this conversation can be over now and we can go back to starcraft

yeah as good as her position is, she could definitely throw by overcommitting to mutas while TLO builds a good counter composition. she did the same thing against hendralisk
(drinking game: drink every time i compare tlo vs scarlett to hendralisk vs scarlett)
Actually, Scarlett's greed for gas killed her. She could've remaxed if she hadn't lost her third, she had like 1k gas banked and literally 0 minerals at the same time.

yeah but she lost the third because she couldn't win a fight with the mutas... and she was greedy for gas because she was going mass muta... so

Felt like she was just kind of goofing around with a ladder build there. Oh well, now she can go to bed and let someone else actually play. Still a fantastic day from her.

Scarlett is possibly moving to GSL next season. Does that mean she goes straight to Code S since she's Byul? or is she a lesser version that only makes it to like Code A

she didnt have her banelings for that fight because she got too clever for her own good with the rocks. she had to wait for a second set of banelings. idk if she could have saved the 3rd or not.
either way that game was action packed and tense and with vasa's casting and soundtrack i loved it

This game was only 1/2 or 1/4 as entertaining, so I'm guessing Code A.

she used it against hendralisk in WCS, the exact same thing, even against the same build TLO used, hiding the extra mutas and everything, so clearly she thinks it's a worthwhile build

Was a great game though. One of the best ZvZ's I've seen in HotS so far. I love those baneling fights, and that was a great display of quality (+1/+1) vs. quantity (double gas baneling pressure). Really great action!

oh for sure, mass muta is exciting to watch, i love mutas myself. i just don't understand how she was supposed to win. seems like her ultra transition was way too late. i think either swarm hosts like someone else said or going into roaches after she pushed TLO back the first time would have been a better option. i'm really curious to see a VOD or something of her playing this on ladder and beating good players

I feel like a pre-spread would've helped. Form a half circle, then a move while microing banelings/small groups of mutas to prevent clumping. Or, for the sake of ZvT, baneling landmines .

Or be JD and attack 5 infestor with mutas and get hit with 0 fungals. I still watch that gif in amazement.
to be honest in the first engagement scarlett had insane muta splits, the first fungal literally went right between two flocks of mutas that both just curved around it. that's why i was so surprised she didn't pull off any more sick micro in the second fight

true. that's so hard to do though, i know from experience. you spend so much APM trying to set up the circle and then if your opponent jukes in the wrong direction you end up with half your mutas engaging and dying while you're still trying to micro the other half
i'm sure scarlett is capable of it though, just didn't work out there

Based on last season of ATC, I would say yes.
Yes, because in the Bo7 she would have taken all 4 kills, therefore it is an all kill. Though usually implied, with revive an all kill does not require a perfect record.

I wish Inori vs J happened
The Ultimate Battle of Ultimate Destiny.
In the background of this GSTL is a tale of two players: Fnatic RC's J and TSL's Inori. Both are constantly used in GSTL matches by their teams. Both can’t seem to win for the life of them. With his loss in last night’s GSTL, J is now 0 - 13. Inori hasn’t gotten a win in Gom studio’s for two years now. While Fnatic is eliminated and TSL is in the playoffs, this is a match that should and will inevitably happen.
Some rivalries happen because two players keep clashing against each other and create amazing games like Polt vs Stephano, or Seed vs Symbol. Other rivalries happen because of a group stage selection that was never forgiven, like Nada vs Keen. Some are just natural born enemies sworn to fight each other to the death like Inca vs detection.
In this case, it is a rivalry to escape the bottom. It is two players that have the complete faith from their teams despite having some of the largest losing streaks in SC2 history. This battle will finally answer the age old question, "What happens when a movable object meets a stoppable force?"

the most annoying thing is just that because of air clumping you have to keep spreading them over and over and over, if you stop microing for half a second you suddenly have 40 mutas stacked on top of each other again. it's such a high intensity style

They moved to EU server after Scarlett lost, presumably to accommodate the German team, as all of Scarlett's matches had been played on NA (as is standard for when 1 player is playing from Korea and the other is playing from Europe).
Going to be honest, when desrow first started going pro, I honestly didn't think he was serious (I think he was around diamond). But I'm glad to be proven wrong, and it's amazing how far he's come (made Premier), and will continue to go. Seems like a really swell fellow, and I wish him continued success.

Freedom and democracy are like swarmhosts. The first wave of locusts shouldn't break you, but after time goes on, and your economy dries up, they finally break down the autocratic walls and flood in.
is that why we want swarm hosts to gtfo of this game?
Well, neither Kerrigan nor Arcturus are really into this democracy thing. No idea how protoss government works.

The protoss had a caste system and a small ruling body of elders called the Conclave that can only come from the judicator caste, which are the tribes descended from the first tribe to join the Khala (psionic religion) after the Aeon of Strife. And the Conclave gets to decide who joins the Conclave, so no democracy.

They moved to EU server after Scarlett lost, presumably to accommodate the German team, as all of Scarlett's matches had been played on NA (as is standard for when 1 player is playing from Korea and the other is playing from Europe).
okay, thanks for clarification! By listening with half an ear, i came to the conclusion; desrow is in eu!
