Perhaps he didn't have the larva. I know he used a lot of queens to run around and defend harassment with a lot of transfuses. may have cut into his injects a bit not sure

Go econ, use mass tech switches and constantly keep Protoss on the backfoot. Or go mass muta corruptor and either viper or infestor.

Lots of corruptors(30+) WITH UPGRADES. I see so many zergs with like 25 1-0 corruptors with 5k banks. Drives me insane. Add in vipers and infestors and lots of queens. It's very hard, but doable. Sending overseers with your ling raids against expansions helps too.
