serious question - tefel has seemingly played the exact same style for the past year++. everyone knows that zvp he's just going to mass roach/hydra almost every game and maybe add in some vipers if his first attack doesn't work. he must be one of the easiest pros to prepare for in terms of having a known style. how does he keep winning and having (albeit moderate) success? is his style just that powerful? why don't more players play like him? or is his style one of those things where he has lots of success vs mid-tier-ish players but gets rolled when he plays a top player?

Probably he is just very good at this style which makes it difficult to get to him. If he defends your early push, he'll steamroll. If you defends his first push, he'll just continue to push relentlessly.

You're right. TooDming for 3rd. Vortix's wins were like last month or something. No way you can count those.

Apart from the question "what would you like to do" is also the matter of "how well do you do it".

Take a blink-stalker all-in for example. This is a build that any protoss could execute from silver league up. Still, if you hand the stalkers to MC he will tear through a huge pile of opponents before he hits someone who can stop him.

Same goes for Tefel I think. He tries to have perfect saturation and hit a very crisp and strong timing with his roach/hydra. Even if it fails he can go for a follow-up with some vipers. And recently Tefel hydras got a buff

Well, if you are good at one style you can keep using it unless it's an early game cheese. It's not like P/Z don't know what T will do in 90% of the time.
