You can't have a best in the world when the skillsets required to win a weekend tournament and GSL are so different.

If I didnt know this was GSL final I'd think it was a generic, but top tier level, game from a couple of foreigners sometime in 2011 right after that pheonix patch was introduced but before BL infestor became a thing. Its just a race between who can switch to the muta comp/anti comp faster.

I think there's a point of level these people reach where they become so good at forcing mistakes outta opponents, and mind games matter so much that it's not so much skill in the game that matters than the mind games etc.

There's argument for both reactions (and when people complain about fantasy gg timings, usually it amounts to similar stuff) Zest's army control is pretty fantastic. He somehow manages to keep his air and ground armies together and pull back the phoenixes at the exact correct time and force corruptors to eat stalker fire. The corruptor count was really low throughout, preventing him from making as many mutas as he'd like. The DTs were also very smart, his choice of 4th was fantastic, and he's really on the ball with the zealot harass.

Winning tournaments is a mix of planning builds, maintaining a mindset, studying your opponent and skill. sOs, MVP and Nestea won tournaments that way, Innovation lost tournaments because he lacked in those other qualities.

Yeah, those games are just bad, seriously. 10 mins with mutas on a base without doing damages, protoss just stacking stalkers/phoenix to defend... That was great skills shown here.
