I know I'm late to the party, but pretty much this. This is shittier for the fans of Naniwa than anyone else. What a disgrace Naniwa is today. He's played some good games and great series in his time, and he's no doubt earned respect for his gameplay, but in the end he chose to follow in the footsteps of Idra rather than Stephano it seems like. It's a damn shame. Least we still have Scarlett.

You can't be serious here, the double standard is astounding. Stephano was king of not respecting opponents, fans and opposition. Though that title should probably go to Naniwa after this...

You think stephano's retirement game was in anyway similar to this?

you're right, it's a double standard, but stephano has a sort of charisma that idra and naniwa don't. stephano's bm always seemed like it had a cheeky smile behind it. naniwa and idra are just angry people

is it right? probably not. but for me, stephano has a way of making people feel good even if he's disrespecting them, if that makes any sense

as a tournament organizer i would probably feel differently

But look at how they left the scene. Idra said, "you're a bunch of fucks" to the fans, Naniwa did this, but Stephano at least left with class haha.

If so that's completely different as winning would put them in a much worse position, and that was very much acknowledged and they tried to put on a show

You should perhaps learn what sportsmanship is, I'll give you a hint, no it's far worse to lose on purpose to get a better match up then it is to forfeit.

guaranteed someone will interview him. it's happened with idra all the time

He'll be the same asshole now as he will in a few days when he "cools down". I would rather never hear from him again in any way related to SC or eSports.

i've seen him say that he regrets saying stupid things before. i've seen him do decent interviews. so my factual experience trumps your opinion of him. keep in mind i'm by no means a naniwa fan or supporter

if you think someone is an asshole, the only way to absolutely guarantee they never change is by treating them like an asshole

Plus Stephano maintains a good relationship with a ton of players. If it was really super BM, you'd think all those players would have nothing to do with him like how nearly everyone treats Naniwa.

And that's exactly why I despise it more, because not one bullshit game, but a whole, completely fake bo3 that culminated in a forfeit in-game.
One may say that it was because the tourney system was flawed and I don't see any difference between what was behind Naniwa vs Nestea (and this time it's not really different. If you want I can add some by PM since I'd rather avoid keep bringing up the subject in the thread) at GSL
A bullshit series that couldn't get any more fake or a stupid game led by a tantrum.

Personally I hate more the first one.

Did he forfeit in the middle of the series tho?

Remember when Demuslim and Major forfeited in Shoutcraft America? That was in the middle of the series as well and people didn't rage this much.

In a series where both players were clearly trying to lose then taking that series with anything but the contempt it deserves is pretty funny.
