when was the photon overcharge launched, during or before the battle? It lost all its shields during the fight, that's a lot of shots that didn't hit the army...

It was the right call for Maru. He missed his timing by about 20-30 seconds.

What Zest was doing are why SCV pulls even exist.

Maru barely lost that. If that Oracle hadn't spotted and killed that scouting SCV then Maru pulls earlier and he has a much better chance of winning.

I really feel like taking the time to snipe medivacs is what let Zest get just enough ground to hold on to that SCV pull. Most other SCV pull fights like that, the Protoss isn't sniping medivacs and eventually there is just too much healing going on.

IMO, anyway. I feel like that was a really big factor.
