I guess It's just the location of the tournament causing the entire open bracket to be local unknowns or did sc2 die overnight and nobody told me?

I mean they even invited ABOMB and Tunico

When you combine the price of travel on top of the price of obtaining a visa, it will definitely make a lot more sense why Americans did not attend this open bracket. It was just a matter of too much expenses for not enough reward.

As someone with some limited knowledge of the Brazilian scene, I'm gonna say Kelazhur, Dakkon, tonho and bush make it out to stage 2.

Even taking into account the 16 players are Brazilian, the lineup for stage 1 is extremely weak. Several good Brazilian players are missing, no DontPanic, ReasoN, Despiron, Sektor, TerraN, Tropa, or filho :/

Hm I wonder why? Is transportation quite expensive in brazil or is the date just bad for some reason? Or did they announce the open bracket on such a short notice?

Both of the casting booths are being used for LoL today, 1x Brazil and 1x English casting.

We will start proper coverage tomorrow for SC2 with Group A.

In other news, trOt is now playing in the open bracket due to a no-show.

I'd laugh so hard if Coach Park would get past the open bracket.

Is it CJ Entus Coach Park or his assistant/EG coach whatever

We have some partners but they don't seem to be responding currently. Matches are underway, if we get some partners join we will get them streaming.

As a Brazilian, I can say that the flights from anywhere to Brazil is really expensive right now. It is summer, Carnaval is coming and soon we will have the World Cup. Tickets started to increase in price since december last year.

I attended the last IEM here, but not feeling like going to this one, the place will be crowded as hell since it will have LoL (that is actually huge here) and Bruce Dickinson also may perform at the event.

Watched some Macho koth before and he is one cool mo'fo. Only thing that could make the Macho experience any more macho would be to have him stream Bruce Dickinson (which is an awkward last name if you think about it).

Why on earth would you not allow community streamers when IEM doesn't stream it themselves? Seems a like a dick move.

Well this sucks, but i can see why they wouldn't want someone from Korea streaming. Guess they haven't got any Brazilians willing to at the moment.

Well they don't have a stream signal today for casters. They will have it tomorrow, and every partner can use this signal to cast the games in diffrent languages etc. Only oberservers on site can join the games, so Macho can't use his own observer tomorrow.

Basically, tomorrow we run a cleanfeed that the casters can use to get in-game/player cams etc from us directly. Since we don't run this today, we don't allow casters into the lobbies, nobody can cast.

when there is only 1 streamer is exciting as hell, you get no attention to the games or players!

Probably this was the only chance the Brazillian players had to get some attention before getting rolfstomped tomorrow. So now, probably no one will ever know if Kelazhur barely outmatched trOt or if he really have some decent skills and won easily.

Yeah I agree. Once again a stupid case of false information and miscommunication. Tweeting on the same day when people get ready to watch, that there is no sc2 stream is bad. Everybody on inside the game also assumed the streams start today.

While countless Brazilians fight in the Open Brackets of IEM Sao Paulo right now, let me give you a colorful overview over the main fights that are going to take place down in South America from tomorrow to Saturday. We have 12 internationally known players who not only would like a share of the $25.000 prize money, but also a seed and seat in the IEM World Championship in March. But even for the winner of Sao Paulo it might be the last chance to win any money in this years Intel Extreme Masters, since the World Championship will be "Winner-takes-it-all"-tournament - and the competition is tough.

ESL not doing themselves any favours here. Seriously, this is about as counter-productive as it gets. I cannot even comprehend the kind of thought process that would go into making decisions like this and then have no real communication. Very odd.

I am relieved that Dakkon didn't qualify. It would be a shame to have a Brazilian representative with such a bad reputation representing the country. ESL could have made a better distribution of the players in the brackets, the second dual tournament has 4 players with at least the same skill level of dakkon (without MH )

He was caught MHing in 2012, even got a ban from ESL for some time and people here are mad at him since then. If he had qualified for the group stage it would be weird even though he would have proven capable of qualifying in a live event.

Just an unfortunate case of miscommunication I guess. You guys could've had a clean feed ready and Macho wanted to stream, but it didn't work out.

So all trOt has to do to advance is beat Major and ABomb... possibly doable? Maybe...

P.S. Isn't Major going by Windy again?

P.P.S. If they're not already, trOt vs. Bbyong should be first, just like GOM does with Up and Downs... even though one is a coach, they're still on the same team, and you want to avoid any issues with collusion...

That stuff isn't nearly as big an issue in the dual tournament group style as opposed to round robin groups.

trOt lost to Kelazhur, 0-2. Major shouldnt have any trouble friday. Abomb as a EU challenger leaguer neither, but his games against Happy were pretty one sided, maybe trOt can win a map?

Oh, I didn't realize it was dual tournament (but that's what the topic says...) In that case, I think they should be placed in different 1st round games.
