Aw man I hope Golden casts with Khaldor... I really enjoyed watching Hyun and Golden cast last time. Really made for something different
|
since i have a really bad internet here, i'll just turn on the stream in low quality and disable adblock
|

No, I'm not. People take care of those who are closer to them, whom they have relied upon, whom have delivered services to them. This is a fundamental part of the human condition. HyuN has done a lot for the SC2 community; therefore we take care of HyuN. Why the fuck would the SC2 community give money to a guy who plays TrackRacing (very very few of us SC2 fans even know what that game is).
For the sake of yourself and everyone in the world you will interact with on any level ever again, please, please, get an education. People like you seriously degrade the quality of every discussion you engage in.
Read books. You can get them on Amazon for cheap.
edit: Who are you even talking to? Khaldor? Dragon? Why the fuck would Khaldor cast a tournament to help a random guy he (I've decided) doesn't even know? Why would Dragon play SC2 to raise money for a guy who plays fucking TrackRacing and Dragon knows nothing about?
Your arguments portray a serious lack of intelligence on your part.

Difference here being that Dreamhack actually paid HyuN the price money, then his manager just took the price money and bolted along with not paying his salary.
And just because you help one person doesn't mean you have to help everyone, if that Trackmania player has a ton of fans and a supportive community he could make a tournament like this himself.
|
OMG taeja vs hyun, must watch that game.
|
I dont want to sound like an asshole but hasnt Hyun earned quite alot of money besided the money quantic stole from him? He is asking ppl to donate money to his paypal... why? He cant afford to put food on the table, he is getting kicked out from apartment? Did he spend all his sc2 money already?
I can understand having little event like this to cheer him up and make him know ppl like him and wants him to keep playing. Its nice. But asking for money when he most likely has earned more many in the last two years than most ppl here. Oh well
|
Hyun is open. He shows how much has been raised so far. And this 2nd tourney even got help from khaldor a professional gsl caster (im assuming hes doing it pro bono). And a bunch of sc players came together to show support. If u like wat they are doing support. If u dont move along.
Thats the way all sports is btw. guy who makes less than 25k pa cheers for a guy who makes 2million pa so that he might make 3million pa lol.
|
The time between the first support tournament and this is extremely short.
This feel more like a milking fest then a support tournament.

You're not serious are you? 23k is a shit ton of money, that's not something you just blow off as "oh well I have $500 dollars in the bank I can put food on the table." Why is everyone so god damn upset that people want to help someone out? Especially someone like Hyun, who is just a great fucking guy who has given a lot to the sc2 community over the years, and when someone like that has some shitty thing like this happen to him and is thinking about giving up who the fuck cares if people want to give him money or support his tournaments to try and convince him to keep going and to continue on this path? I honestly am having a hard time figuring out what the big fucking deal is and these ignorant fucking comments are really starting to piss me off. If he had 100,000$ in the bank do you really think he would be doing this shit? Common sense these days seems to have gone the way of the dodo bird, jesus christ.
|
I understand the mechanism of the logic behind the arguments people use to invent controversy over the community's attempts to help Hyun out, as opposed to a bunch of people we've never heard of, but I fail to understand how they themselves can believe in their own arguments.
Also, fuuuuuuuuck, I can't watch this one live either. Looks like I should just leave a window with adblock turned off to Hyun's twitch for the next week or whatever.

you do realise hyun has never misled anyone into thinking he is too broke to live and needs the money? And did you know that people want another support tournament, thus pros and community members are there for hyun? (just like heromarine, dragon etc turned off their stream and told them to watch the stream while other pros joined in, san and taeja even played a show match)

Dont be such a drama queen. I think most ppl would be hard pressed to even ask friends for money even if they could barely afford food on the table. Thats why I find this to be strange. Doing it twice even. But maybe he has spent all his money, what do I know. Or maybe its a cutural thing. People can do whatever they want with their money. Asking for support and love and linking to my paypal are two different things. But thats just me.

I watched just a little of the first tournament and thought: Hey this is korean cast is fun and all but an english cocaster would make this much better. I also thought Khaldor would be someone who would cast this. And here we go :D
Will definetley watch the entire tournament this time.
|
This is going to be great!! Hope I can catch some games tomorrow, and I hope Golden will cast with Khaldor, it was quite fun and good to see Hyun and Golden cast together! And, being Korean programers, they have quite a good insight on the game, which makes up for their not perfect english!
Also I fail to understand people that say that we should not support Hyun... Do you really want Hyun to retire? What would you do if somebody had "stolen" $23k from you? Would you just say it is ok because you have enough to pay next month's rent and food? Or would you do everything in your power to get it back? Simon is gone, and I think that if he is ever found, the community will do everything to make him pay what he owes! In the meantime, can we just enjoy progamers play good starcraft matches??
And also, these are going to be great top level matches! At least Sage, Taeja and Hyun are top level players! Even if it wasn't to support Hyun, I would watch this tournament! So now I have 2 reasons to watch it!

Or maybe he does it because in esports you don't become extremely rich like you might think. Instead you spend years away from the economical world and then you didn't study or learn a job. You have to make up for this by at least having some cash.

I don't get the idea that donating somehow makes what Simon did ok, maybe I'm not too sure the meaning of subsidizing but it's not like he's going to come back, pay everyone except Hyun and say "but he got donated what I owed him so he shouldnt bitch about it".
That guy is likely gone, and if he does show up he won't pay a dime because he can't.. So what's wrong with donating the money, it's not giving Simon a pass at all.

why is hyun still on quantic?

I'm not too fond of Khaldor casting this. The first tournament was great in part because of Golden and HyuN's casting. Will definitely watch, though...

I honestly don't understand the problem some people seem to have with this second tournament.
Hyun got cheated out of a crap ton of money. His fans and part of the SC2 community wanted to support him. He organized two "tournaments" to play showmatches with progamers he's friends with to give something back and raise awareness. Where's the problem? You get good games, you get a cast and nobody forces you to actually donate anything. If you don't want to help you can still enjoy the matches, so where's the problem?

Exactly, it's free entertainment for whoever wants it, you're not forced to donate anything. Hyuns one of the nicest most energetic guys out there as well. The moneys important and he's owed a ton, but its just as important for Hyun to feel good about the community and game/games he's spent so much time playing for you guys. Bring positivity, even if you're not planning on donating.
