Wait if San can't play, surely Dailymotion won't just let Squirtle have a walkover in the finals. If they didn't let Polt walkover in the Ro8, for consistency's sake they would need to find a replacement.
In which case, it would probably be most logical to let the winner of the 3rd place match play in the finals. Could you imagine the community rage if Innovation managed to beat ForGG and Squirtle win this tournament despite being knocked out twice? LOL
