You can probably contact Aphrodite on Facebook, same with Flo. You might even find Barbie on there. 2 out 3 of those ladies are members of GoSc.
|
I'm not in any shape to play but it would be fun. Maybe I can cast, but I think I'd only have like four hours to do that. ):
|
I think I'm favoring Maddelisk so far, but maybe that's just because I've only seen much from her, Livibee, and Aurora.
|
Have you tried maybe contacting MsSpyte as well? I know she's not a pro but she's a really good high-master Zerg.

Oooh. Undecided if I want to play or just watch; playing involves waking up at 5am for me....

To be fair, EU server tends to have terrible lag with KR, which would make it hard for them to do well. Although...Livibee is playing....
|
Did you see if LivinPink would play?! I think she would be down for something like this! :D
|
|
|
MsSpyte could be a great challenge to Madeleine!

Is this an invitational or an open tournament? If it's an invitational, then I would suggest QueenE in addition to those who have already been mentioned in the thread. If it's open, I would suggest contacting Girls of StarCraft and MadmoiZerg in order to reach out to more players. Also, the current record (as far as I know) for the amount of female players in a single tournament is 31, so there might be a chance to break that record if you make it a 32-player tournament instead. Just saying

Yes! KR is actually a really hard server and in a tournament enviroment it is more about nerves and pressure. Also this expirience can help with ladder anxiety so much, but that does not seem a problem of yours.

I don't think Prime and Startale are going to let their players/practice partners play for 60€. Also there is silver and master players in this list.
But that's a good initiative non the less.

how about signing Scarlett up, giving her 1st prize, and skipping the tournament lol
|
Correction for the first post: I'm Canadian, not American.
As for the poll, Maddelisk obviously--she went 13-0 in maps at IeSF, and ZvZ is her strongest matchup.
And Scarlett certainly used to play in female tournaments back when she was not famous and had plenty of free time:
http://wiki.teamliquid.net/starcraft2/NESL_Iron_Lady/Brackets
She dropped a map or two to DaSakura once....

Woah woah. Maddelisk is a girl? Why did I not know this already?
This should be fun. I agree that Scarlett should probably be involved in this somehow as she IS the reigning Queen of SC2. I agree that having her compete would probably just ruin it she'd be too dominant.
|
Fine to see a tournament for girls only. IMO girls have no real chance to show their skill in this SC2 man world (Expect Scarlett :p). They need more of them to level up and start kick asses in bigger tournament.
GO maddelisk!

Chose "Other", because there's no other female player on the planet that could take a game off Scarlett, even if she offraced.

lol, progamer offraces aren't necessarily that great (except for goswser). I beat Suppy's offrace protoss at Blizzcon
Besides, DaSakura already took a game off of scarlett in a female tournament two years ago--no offracing involved....

Well, there is no other... female compareable to Scarlett skillwise. She would probably win this tourney without dropping even a single game, she's so strong at the moment, but people of course want to have a tense tourney with great games. And of course also promoting new players. So all in all, I think it's a good decision and we will have a good tourney.

I haven't invite Scarlett because i think she has to many others tournaments to do not because she's too good for my tournament and yes i'm trying also to promote new players . Since ESL no one have create a tournament only for girls, so I hope that my tournament will make girls out of the shadows and can also have nice games :D .

Except, the last IesF tournament was live event in Romania, so Aphrodites loss was not about game not working. But I must admit that she using only one tactic against zerg might have something to do with it. Bad choice! In the girl scene foreigners will prevail!

Well right, but Aphrodite only lost to masters league players in that tournament, and beat quantic.kaitlyn the first time they faced, only to lose to her in the third place match. Not a dominant performance, but not bad.
Point is, playing KR to EU would make things considerably worse.
But I must admit that she using only one tactic against zerg might have something to do with it. Bad choice! In the girl scene foreigners will prevail!
She's been playing mech every game since we first saw her in 2011; RainbOw taught her his style, and she hasn't really deviated. And she used to win tournaments with it back when she had half the APM. I think the competition in female tournaments is just overall harder now.

Except Aphrodite already lost to akane and kaitlyn for example in the recent IeSF world championships where MaddeLisk in total didn't drop a single map the ENTIRE tournament (including qualifiers). So... I'd say MaddeLisk is the strongest female in the world atm if we don't count Scarlett, because she's playing a on different level.

Dont get me wrong i wasnt trying to bash the prizepool I think its pretty accurate to the competition. Was more like "scarlett this scarlett that" so i jumped on that truck

Well, MaddeLisk didn't drop a single map, grats! :D

I met my goal of this tournament, which was not to lose 0-2 in the first round. Won round 1, and...then faced Maddelisk round 2; obviously expected to lose that, although I should have responded better in game 1 when I saw how late the hatch was.

Hi,
The first Ladies of the Swamr is now over :
1st = MaddeLisk  2nd = QueenE  3th = Livibee  4th = AuRora
A great first tournament for us and i hope for girls too, maybe we will make another tournament on the NA server but this time it is still working, the next Ladies of the Swarm will probably late January (pending confirmation before).
Thanks to all streams :
Zombiegrub / Colter / Hantypen & Bigmanjapan :D .
See you on next GdA-Tournament

Ty for hosting. I'm really happy to see some more female cups. IF the next cup will be played on NA it would be great if the tournament is at a time so that EU can join too. Or you can have the tournament on EU but let players from Kr play on NA for example. But put it in the rules in that case so we know^^

Great tourny was a lot of fun, thanks for the oportunity to stream

EDIT: also, next time we need to get more Canadians . Canada has historically been strong in female tournaments; so it was weird being the only representation, especially since I'm a lot worse than most of the other Canadian girls.

wow, maddelisk really feels like another dimension compared to the other ladies.

I'll be making a separate post for this, but the next all female tournament in the Ladies of the Swarm series is February 15th!

We hope to have as many players as the first.
