That was a really cool bw-esque transition into mech by mvp. If he was a little more aggressive and prevented curious from getting more than 4 bases I think it would have been much stronger.

The lings kept the mech units shooting at things that weren't ultras long enough for the ultras to get in and attack the mech with all their health. The lings were crucial.
mvp would've lost the fight even if all the lings' supply was used for ultras... clumped tank/thor is going to be destroyed by ultras unless you have a lot of mines in front. hence why the most common way to play mech is to turtle..

He tried that once, I remember a game very long ago on Tal'Darim Altar where he was making these ridiculous armies with 20+ tanks and still lost.
since combined upgrades you can actually use banshees rather well against toss to peel of shields. Atleast I managed to win a bit without ghosts when going Mech. Means nothing for pro play though.

Zealots and archons u take out all shields.
Terrans can EMP the zealots and archons fine without having to be in medivacs since those units are in front. Terrans usually have trouble getting to the HTs that are flanking or sit at the back of the Protoss army and storm mid fight. One of the big down side of EMP is that it is great as front load damage. But a ghost EMPing mid fight does very little damage compare to storming mid fight.
However, ghosts do have cloak and snipe has one range. But I think in large engagements, HTs are slight more valuable. Plus they can turn into archons if they run out of energy.
I think maybe making ghosts 150/150 will help since Ts need a gas dump in the late game.

Although I am not fan of MVP but actually MVP is one of the smartest player and thus won many championships. His plan in a Best of x series is above other players. Remember GSL game 7 against Squirtle? Thats pure genius with failed proxy raxes and then hiding Marines to flank the stalkers. Cheese is a form of strategy. Pros play to win not to entertain.

IdrA the only reason why I'm watching this. Say what you will about his attitude, he's quite an insightful caster and relatively well spoken. Plus, you never know when something interesting might come out... enjoyable so far.

some gm players make mech work ... although idk if it works on the highest level of play .. but terran pros might still be exploring with mech thats why we dont see it too often

This rehost just changed history forever. Instead of close spawn, now they're far apart. This could easily change the outcome of the game because now we will never know what could have happened.
Looks like Mvp is dead set on making mech work. And it worked against Curious with ease. It seemed like Curious didn't really know what to do about it. Mvp making TvZ meta mechy instead of biomines! :D

Very true. While it may not necessarily be viable late game just yet, it's certainly a possibility when used correctly, like in Mvp's timing attack.

Curious isn't a bad player, I expected him to win against Mvp, but Mvp finally made mech good thanks to the latest patch that buffed mech. Then again, I don't see this work against everyone and I think Mvp's strat is limited to timing attacks as I don't see mech work in a long macro game.

It is boring but it comes down to the same reason Toss vs swarm hosts is boring, moving out for the non zerg player just becomes too risky. SHs just automatically lead to stalemate games, unfortunately
Its sad because I orignally liked the concept, in practise its really bad.

Zerg can't deal with sky terran yeah, they can fight the ground army without swarm hosts though

uh no, they don't have weaker units. At the very least that is not a fact and you certainly didn't prove it.
