Lucifron has his moments of brilliance, but he goes full foreigner quite often.

At blizzcon he used proxy stargate against Polt multiple times and multiple times vs Bomber and has used it vs Bomber and Taeja today. He is using quite a lot. At one point, Forge expand was essentially the only commonly used opening in PvZ. If one particular opening is stronger or gives you more option than other openings, there is literally no reason to use another opening. sOs is very good at using proxy oracle openers, and it'd be strange if he stopped doing them just because he's used it a lot before. The difference is forge expand is a safe macro opening. Using a very risky proxy opening at such a high rate is very different. If the terran spots it he can almost auto lose. Forge expand was almost never an auto loss for the toss. That is a huge difference.

The way sOs plays it, it's almost never an automatic loss for him either. Several times, he did very little damage and still managed to come out ahead. A little like Life's 10-pool openers in WoL.

The thing is this proxy oracle opening isn't as risky as you make it out to be. sOs wouldn't use it at such a frequent rate if it just auto loses to a scout.

kind of unnecessary from Geoff to make fun of sOs because he misses ONE forcefield t.t

For example the terran spots it while the Stargate is building he is massively behind. He gets NOTHING out of it. That was more the auto loss I was talking about.
