Nestea is not getting out of that bracket unfortunatly.

Bracket 2 feels so underwhelming compared to bracket 1, but Dream vs. Effort should be a great game

nope

Even if he had, why would anyone pick WCG over IEM?

Something foul is afoot, further investigation is needed. Rumours abound that Huk was found killed, beaten to death with a tire iron, witnesses are said to have reported an argument with an unknown assailant that involved a refusal to apologize.

TB confirmed to be killing Esports.

Is Huk actually high enough on NA to make the cut?

i would say together with scarlett he is far superior to the rest
no idea how much he played this season though and there is polt, should be tough but he should make it nevertheless

IEM and DH on the same weekend, SC2 overload.

This tournament is pretty loaded compared to last year's IEM Singapore. Very nice.

Mvp vs Nestea finals imo.

a man can Dream. especially of MVP. i digress.

i feel like the dual tournament brackets are not very fair. 2 is much harder than 1. also is it just me or do Scarlett and Bomber meet at every tournament nowadays (they are in the same gropup here) and always have close and good matches. i smell a rivalry.

Lichter must have made a mistake from having too much passion. WCG, IEM, and DH threads must be too much to handle.

I'm at the event live and all you see is nestea and Blysk in a booth, with the casters casting behind the scenes, the crowd you see is watching league of legends right next to the player booths on the main stage, and there are NO TV'S for the audience which you can watch the event being casted, unless you go to the player area and take a peek at their TV. I'm watching the event on my phone in a restaurant outside the venue, this is kinda dumb.

Great, dominating play by Nestea. I wouldn't doubt it if he won a WCS next year. I really do think he is back to his dominant 2 GSLs in a row form like back in the 2011 days.

From what I can tell I have to watch amateur league of legends live from 11am to 5pm according to the timetable at the venue. Yay.

We're working on it! Unfortunately the stage needs to share LoL and SC2. After the two LoL games it's all SC2 from there.

The monitors next to the SC2 booths should show SC2. There is a technical problem there, we are working on it. I'm sorry for the inconvenience.

What are the chances the reason Blysk didn't scout that hatchery is because he's expecting some kind of shenanigans from ol' Nestea?

The monitors next to the SC2 booths should show SC2. There is a technical problem there, we are working on it. I'm sorry for the inconvenience.

50 chairs and two screens are being set up, if you're still here. Will take a while.

Sounds like the kind of build that you go, wow, this is op, let me ladder with this, and then you get 3gate pressured 2 out of 3 games because everyone 3gate pressures, and you're back to your dt build freewins =)

Really disappointing game by Squirtle. Losing both of his Colossi to Immortals because he was distracted in the main.

Also Xigua in there, Squirtle embarrassingly lost to him at IPL5.

But that group looks easy so it would be ok if he were there. ^.^

He was still doing okay even earlier this year, took third in Iron Squid 2 which was a stacked tournament. He beat Parting in that one. In the past 6-8 months he's looked foreigner level though.

They're probably delaying the entire second group until they finish this one... If they aren't and they don't show that match they're doing something wrong.

nope, dual #2 starts in 3 minutes

Well, if they don't delay that match they're definitely doing something wrong. It easily beats any match possible in dual #1.

That is double elimination for you... We won't have that problem for the rest of the tournament.

To elaborate on that - sometimes we have to wait for a series which had started already and we can't jump into the match and we can't stream the next match (since we're waiting for the winner).

That does not take long. We use SSD swaps - the settings are stored on the disk and move with the player.

Okay, I've been seeing this two sneak warp in rounds of zealots to kill third thing a bunch over the past several months, and I always hear players/casters be like "the way to stop it is by scouting the proxy pylon"
it would take like, maybe four banelings to kill that many zealots, why on earth doesn't anybody just auto make banelings nest?

If zvz wasn't ransom as fuck and at least required some skill, nestea would've easily destroyed this targa guy. It's just roach infestor vs roach infestor until broodlords come out.

So basically he's the HerO of terran? I guess that explains why I like him so much. Although he does show flashes of brilliant TvT too.

Yeah, Curious vs. SeleCT just ended a couple minutes before Avenge vs. San did so expect a half hour wait for the next series.

Twitch has gone from playing pretty flawlessly, to stuttering a bit when I watch at 1080p, to stuttering a lot when on medium quality, to being unwatchable at any quality, to not even loading now. Thank god for live updates :D

Why isn't the twitter embed working?

the link embed only works once per page(per link) so it isn't spammed.

No but it doesn't work at all. It looks like this for me on your post:[image loading]

weird o_O

It doesn't load at all. I just have a blank space so not even the link shows. The only way I can find what was being linked, is if I quote it and manually take out the URL

this really really reminds me of that game between scarlett and bomber at the quarterfinals of the season 2 finals, just, such sick containment and unit movement by dream

come to think of it it was the same map lol. Also I'm really surprised by dream, curious is a fucking monster at zvt, he has like a seventy percent winrate or something

Mutas are not strong on their own though, it's always in combination with banelings or some kind of pressure somewhere else.

Curious is like Soulkey overloaded. Instead of the small packs of 4-6 banelings he runs like 20 into the mineral lines, destroying everything.

I dunno, zerg has a hard time affording hive as it is, often getting at least 2-1 before it. Hard to make second spire worth it imo.

When one unit kills another with out dying itself its effective? Damn man, mind blown.

No, it was because Mutas were only used for a short while in WoL games, they wanted mutas to be viable for a longer period during each game.

Trying to find a source for you. But WM bio-mine parades were an invention after Hots and didn't seem like it was integral to the game, so it's hard to imagine that Blizzard made mutas stronger with the bio-WM parade push in mind.

Le ToD!

Did ToD and IdrA cast together yet? Really wanna see a PvZ with those two.

Also I find myself cheering a bit for EffOrt just because I've seen him get along with Snute recently.

You can't really nerf mutas right now, it's by far the most important zerg unit in TvZ, zerg absolutely depends on it, and it's also very crucial for ZvP. If anything, we need to look at terran factory units, I would say Thors specifically.

well that could be good. I mean thors are expensive as fuck and takes long to make. Maybe making them a little better might work since 30+ mutas chomp marines for dinner with ling support and mines not doing as well as how it did prepatch

I feel Oz gets punished for his cute builds more often than other players, Maybe because he does them a lot?

First Oz lags out of the Dailymotion Cup, then the EG vs. CJ showmatch, and now this... He must hate the internet by now.

Also 80 minutes until DreamHack Winter with 3 matches left and this happens... There might be some overlapping.

If it is DDOS, then OZ only has himself to blame by now. There are tons of guides out there on how to protect yourself from DDOS and I'm sure EG has the resources and expertise to help OZ with that.

It may just be shoddy interwebz, but it seems odd that a professional gamer would sit on a terrible connection for this long when he is on the richest team in esports.

EG curse is evolving perhaps. Soon they wont even be able to tie their own shoelaces, and will start spilling their Monster drinks over the keyboards.

Such a weird match. Zero creep spread from EffOrt and hydra speed not finished made that fight quite scary.

That said I kinda like how EffOrt moved out to engage Oz, his army positioning with the concave was great.

I wonder if it would give an advantage to be like "yeah, I'm gonna six pool him in one of our games" to make Dream be like "oh shit" and play more safe, while Effort doesn't in fact six pool. Or something similar. Just try and get an edge.

Cool to see Effort do well, especially vs toss, it's been a major weakness of his in SC2.

They should use a remake of Xel Naga Caverns, with every base being a gold base.

Very nice play by Effort, he plays almost exactly like Jaedong.

Btw, this thing that Dream does where he picks up marines in the medivacs doesn't really seem to be working, they just get shot down before they can boost out.

Lack of macro hatch might have been an issue, but just building lots of units is not very helpful in ZvT, you need the right units. Sure he can flood lings but that is not nearly as good as just getting more mutas and a decent baneling count. Past a certain point more lings are just superfluous, they can't get surface area and end up blocking the banes more than anything.

the highground advantage is that you cant warp in from low ground pylon.

The vision advantage in those situations is kinda big. It's very hard to micro against units you can't see.

This is starting to look like late WoL TvZ in that the terran can do damage time after time, but the Z just doesn't die, and slowly moves up in the tech tree - last long enough and you're pretty certain to win. 3 months ago Dream would have already won after all the early-game mistakes by Effort.

I feel like Dream needs to wait a little longer between attacks. He never has enough left after each fight to do damage.

Mutaball is getting scary large though because the regen keeps them alive.

the highground advantage is that you cant warp in from low ground pylon.

the situation was as follows: zerglings attack hellions, hellions walk up a ramp, all zerglings get destroyed and kaeleris said it was because there is some kind of highground advantage that he just made up in that second....i dont know, i just hate stupid made up shit like this. there is no highground advantage and the missing sight had no impact on anything in this particular scene.

EffOrt did overdrone at that point he made 23ish drones, right? Didn't see drone count until after some attacks, but was at 77 drones after he had lost a bunch.

Dream is probably smiling because DRG is outside his booth... lol

I swear Avenge is like Symbol except instead of consistently getting Ro8+ at Code S he's 1 game/match away from advancing to the main tournament... Code A Ro24 every season and tiebreakers in the Up/Downs every season now he's in the 5th place match (tiebreaker) here... :o

We're working on it! Unfortunately the stage needs to share LoL and SC2. After the two LoL games it's all SC2 from there.

The monitors next to the SC2 booths should show SC2. There is a technical problem there, we are working on it. I'm sorry for the inconvenience.

Thanks a lot! The problem was solved and a set of TV's were installed next to the stage so that sc2 fans could watch it

Yes pls.

Scarlett vs Bomber rematch from Redbull Battlegrounds would also be good

True hipsters know Dream vs Scarlett was the better game.

Dream and Curious had a glorious second map. Whole series was enjoyable but the second one was really good with constant action.
