The dumb analysis desk gimmick is killing hype in every esport. Why the hell did this crap catch on? i thought it worked pretty well, save for the massive JD bias

That was a very ugly series won by cheese that you can't counter even when you stop the cannon rush. Oh well, at least SC2 is a dying game.

To be fair it felt quite obvious that sOs was going to win since he beat Bomber before. ^___^

I sort of thought in game 2 was sort of like using 3 bunkers to block the ramp kind of scenario. Shouldn't Ps NOT allowed to do this because it gives them such a good advantage?

Or a place with big stories, epic games and cleverly staged games like professional wrestling, where fan favorites usually win.
All these talks about sOs having no personality, cheesing and not deserving just made me to throw up on my keyboard. BRB, gotta come cleanup to do. judging from the people in this thread, they want wrestling. it's unbelievable how people will actually "get hyped" for a tournament and then literally become angry if they don't like who wins. the point of the tournament is for every single player to show up and bring his chops. the person who should win is the person who wins. why else watch tournaments? are we babies who need to be spoonfed "nice" games? People have emotions and they are sad when their player doesn't win. It's like in football and any other sports. How very strange people root for the guys they are fans of. lol, that's not what we're talking about and you know it
there's a difference between posting "nooo! i wanted jaedong to win! " and 15 pages of "bullshit faceless korean bad storyline blah blah i'm never watching starcraft 2 again blizzard killing esports"

Let's be honest here, sOs played amazingly. The mind games were out of this world. I really enjoyed the finals, even though "my team" lost. That's sports, you live with it.

Nice ninja edit to make you seem less of a terrible poster though. Congrats sOs at winning a very well-executed event production-wise. Hoping for a good start to 2014 Wut? talking about diligu Oh Hah, I was really confused for a moment before I realized he'd edited his post

What a terrible conclusion to WCS. So besides winning, what does jaedong have over shy in terms of personality? his legend, his emotions, his fans. when JD wins a match, the crowd reacts way stronger than other players. Yeah so if you're not a BW legend you can't win a tournament ? Good mentality. Oh, and sOs was sHy before, and not an unknown at all (and he's been there since the switch, placing consistently high). Being there all the time yet still being faceless shows just HOW FACELESS sOs actually is... Even aLive is more memorable Well, I can see his face pretty well, and I remember him since he's entered Code S (he was one of the first Kespa players to do it). The fact you don't remember the guy doesn't mean he's faceless... Not just me though... there's even a guy hosting a barcraft saying how faceless he is. Not many people care about him, that doesn't mean he's a bad player, he's great, he just doesn't inspire the amount of fans other players do, he's a lot like aLive except sOs is a far better player It's nonsensical lol. People have no consistency when it comes to the 'faceless' tag. Flash is hardly a beacon of charisma for one?
Is it playstyle, is it results, is it charisma? Wtf do you have to do to NOT be faceless other than not being a player some butthurt asshole doesn't like?
Hell even posts like 'shame Dear didn't do it, he's much better than sOs' when the latter is a paragon of wackiness and improvisation, and the former is the definition of a really solid Protoss player?

If I was at the venue I would try to fucking snag that trophy rofl

Then most people haven't watched any SC2 in the first half of this year. sOs was in semis of first GSL, he was 2nd in WCS Season 1 Finals, he was 2nd in Asian Martial Arts Tournament... And more importantly, he is the guy, who created brand new styles of protoss play in both PvZ AND PvT throughout his Proleague games. Also was the Protoss with most wins throughout Proleague AND Protoss Proleague MVP. Carried WJS to victory in the regular season, together with Soulkey. Had MORE wins than Soulkey, iirc. So yeah, fuck most people (and they should also shut up and do their data check...) He was 1st in Asian Martial Arts Tournament. And Rain was Proleague MVP with largest winrate there IIRC. sOs was 2nd ranked toss there though. And the best thing about that AIMAG was that he managed to get past qualification there, including 2-1/2-0 over Innovation :D

I love the hate towards "faceless" Koreans that don't have that much "fans, history, legacy, legend", pick yours.
Good attitude to keep so they never build a fanbase or a legacy.
We should totally forbid new players entering this scene and just decide that only those who've already won can win the next tournaments.

Or you know, Dreamhack Grand Finals. He didnt qualify for Red Bull (lost to two unknown zergs, what the hell?)
I feel JD is awfully inconsistent. You have blowing everyone's heads with his victory in the grand finals over Dear, then losing to an unknown zerg in the QUALIFIERS for a smaller tourney. Inconsistent, as in 5 runner up's in half a year or something. That's about the most consistent player this year

How can you argue that sOs is in any way a fan favorite!? He's maybe top 100 in terms of name recognition.
It's fucking boring if the same players are constantly placing high and winning every tournament. New fan favorites need to emerge for things to stay interesting. Just because he doesn't have a big fanbase now doesn't mean he never will, and it doesn't mean you should make 100 posts in this thread whining about how he's killing esports by not throwing the finals.
