Everyone's excited that we might have a foreigner at the biggest SC2 event, so why wouldn't we talk about it? It's the most interesting story during this tournament and if he makes it, Blizzcon will be so much more fun to watch for most players and most likely have 20k more viewers than if he doesn't. There is probably as many people who dislike Naniwa as those who like him. So you are not speaking on behalf on everyone. But regardless of that, this is a LR thread for a tournament Naniwa isn't even in, so I agree with anyone who finds constant Naniwa chance speculation irritating. Every time Naniwa wins, there are tons of people expressing "how they don't like him blah blah blah", instead of talking about the actual games. We have to stand it. Now, you can stand the fact that, chances are, we will have a one SINGLE foreigner in the WCS Global Final. There are many people who care about that. If you love the game you shouldn't care if there are koreans or foreigners in it. You should be in it for the games.Quality games. Everybody has his favorite player and if you said Naniwa is your favorite and that is the reason you want him at Blizzcon it would be ok. But from your statement it seems that you simply want non korean, basically white people in it, for sole reason of them being non korean. That is kind of racist. Hahaha... Seriously? :D The funniest thing I've heard in the long time! You must've been joking. Yes, Naniwa is my fav players, but I also always cheer for foreigners. This is rasism, really? Well you were the one who said people should talk about actual games but you talk about a player who isn't even in this tournament and about popularity of koreans / non koreans and our chances of having SINGLE non korean at the next big tournament. Maybe you should follow your own advice and concentrate on the games and we can debate about Naniwa at Blizzcon (if he makes it there) Maybe you should spend less time calling people racist because they want to see a player they like make it to Blizzcon. I know its weird, but sometimes it has nothing to do with race. There was nothing in his post that would indicate he wants Naniwa in because he is a fan, he said " chances are, we will have a one SINGLE foreigner in the WCS Global Final. There are many people who care about that." That sounds racist to me because it sounds like he doesn't care who it is as long as it is some foreigner dude. But later he said he is Naniwa fan so I guess he wants him there for that reason. But the main point stands. There is no Naniwa in this tournament and he himself said we should focus more on actual games, so lets do that, shall we? At least I will and from now I will completely ignore all post containing Naniwa in it. You're confusing racism with nationalism. If I was Korean, I'd be happy with Korean players. But since I'm a "foreigner," I'll settle for any foreigner. It's not so much about race as it is about representation. I can't identify with Korean players, their dominance, performance, etc. I can, however, identify with the underdog, the "foreigner," since that's the demographic I happen to fall into, in terms of Starcraft. Here's my question. How come you don't have any standards when it comes to cheering for foreigners? I'm all for being nationalistic as I cheer for canadians in under represented sports like basketball, football, baseball, etc, but I don't blindly cheer for all canadians. I have standards, so cheer for people like steve nash, etc and would never cheer for a bm/douchebag cdn just because they were cdn. My problem with the community has always been is they turn bm players like naniwa/idra into heroes and those two represent the stereotype of bm/raging/anti social image that the mainstream have of gamers. When gamers make players like that their heroes, they embrace that stereotype which is why gamers will never earn the respect of the mainstream and I can't blame them for that. Until the community and gamers in general can clear up their immaturity/misogynist image, they will never be taken seriously.
Yeh you could probably take this discussion to some place else.
Just be here to talk about the games and bring the passion

I actually agree with you. For me, it's just a case of "I'll take what I can get." I don't particularly care for Naniwa (I don't dislike him either), but I'll root for him.
As for what you said about gamers' images, you're absolutely correct. Any culture that actively uses the word "rape" lightheartedly is destined to be shunned.

Really great defence from Byul, so hard to hold that with just Roach, Ling and he did it perfectly

People been whining about toss the whole tournament. But by the looks of it the final 4 might very well be 1 toss 2 zerg and a terran.

9:00 byulis making a lot more lings lair is quite late trap is looking to flank the army gets surrounded
10:00 one immortal falls trap loses a lot of sentries
11:00 trap probes the nat but then circles around to the third and tries to do damage 40 probes to 47 drones trap still can't get too much done
12:00 trap goes home and might attempt a sentry drop it gets spotted while the roaches take the map
