I'm not sure that's so good for the scene... I don't think 1 foreigner vs. no foreigners will really kill the scene or anything. the competitive level of play in NA and europe is the issue, who ends up at blizzcon is totally irrelevant imo in fact you could argue that one foreigner making it and just being washed out in the first round would look even worse on the scene Kind of like this season finals except Naniwa is much better than Vortix and has a chance to win a round at Blizzcon, well maybe, it depends on who he faces. if he comes in with 15th seed he might hit jaedong in round 1. yeah but it's certainly a possibility that he would wash out, and a lot of people would immediately hold that up as another example of the impenetrable wall of korean talent
so i guess my overall point is that playing the "which competitor is better for the scene" guessing game is kinda silly and we should just let the matches play out how they will. improving NA has to happen inside NA, not via blizzcon placements or WCS rules

Okay HerO is out, so I will jump on the Oz HYPE TRAIN. And then when he loses to Soulkey I will jump on the Maru HYPE TRAIN and he will win the tournament.

Why jump to Oz over the clearly superior MC?

It's just much more exciting and the storylines and "underdog" feel of it is great. I care. I mean if I wanted to watch story lines with a vague connection to competitive spirit, I'd watch pro-wrestling. So your calling Naniwa bad? Yes Dear won the GSL, but Naniwa has aswell had some success in the league, while also having multiple international top finishes. Also, I believe he alerady beat Dear offline. Naniwa having success in the GSL last year in WoL does not mean he is at the level now. Especially when Kespa hadn't switched yet also. If Naniwa was even close to the level of Dear he would have had no issues in WCS EU and at the very least made it to WCS season 3 finals and not be at home hoping these players lose so he can make it to blizzcon. He plays in the easiest region if he can't make it that's on him Slightly inconsistent, but his top lvl is definately not far behind Dears.. maybe we should w8 and see, but right now naniwa has come out ahead In what possible way has Naniwa come out ahead? Dear won WCS KR. Naniwa couldn't even make the finals for WCS EU once. Yeah he was good in the GSL like over a year ago. That means now he is better than the Dear? I don't even like Dear but you are delusional if you think they are even close much less Naniwa being ahead
