yeah but it's certainly a possibility that he would wash out, and a lot of people would immediately hold that up as another example of the impenetrable wall of korean talent
so i guess my overall point is that playing the "which competitor is better for the scene" guessing game is kinda silly and we should just let the matches play out how they will. improving NA has to happen inside NA, not via blizzcon placements or WCS rules

In what possible way has Naniwa come out ahead? Dear won WCS KR. Naniwa couldn't even make the finals for WCS EU once. Yeah he was good in the GSL like over a year ago. That means now he is better than the Dear? I don't even like Dear but you are delusional if you think they are even close much less Naniwa being ahead
