Game 2 was very good in my eyes for the adaption on a BO loss. Not to mention the very slick timings on the final attack just as the hatch is finished. Short but sweet.

So thinking about it, with this being the last WCS of 2013 and WCS 2014 being finalized and it only being October. Will the next season be GSL Code S and not WCS? I know GOM always refer to it as going to Code S but i think it might have more value? Will GSL Code S be back next time? (Dec/Jan?)

Depends on the map and your build. Basically if there's only one photon overcharge available you can circumvent it on some maps and go into the main, micro a bit and win. Yeah, Blink just seems to hit when your opponent has one Immortal and another one on the way, together with a handful of gateway units which tends to be enough to rout your early attack.

Same thing with viking shot vs cloak banshee once they are out of range of detection. Only splash will deal damage
Sick moves by both players. I feel Dream could've won the air battle, getting more vikings and less banshees maybe. Only need 1 banshee to defend unless vs other vikings really. Not sure.

Fantasy had the better macro until he fucked up his engagements and start falling apart. Shoud have taken advantage of his supply lead and the late mutalisks of Sleep.

Sleep is perfectly abusing Fantasy's opening/build. His micro is not that impressive but good multitasking, good defense and really good decision making (when to take additional bases, when to build drones, when to attack with his mutas) won him the game

Unless you mean a 2base push (which couldn't come because sleep scouted the 3rd CC), I don't think Sleep would have struggled against that.
I think terrans need to figure out some all in builds. Zergs know exactly what the terran will do every game. Macro macro macro. Are there no hellion/hellbat marauder builds or whatever. Just something to atleast make the zerg wonder a little bit

I've seen some 4 hellion 4 hellbat attacks on korean streams, works well when unscouted. Problem is that it's so hard to prevent scouting. Very strong against non-roach defense.
Another nice build is MMA's double medivac stim drop. Goes for 4 hellions, swap factory onto another barrack, build viking (to clear path) and two medivacs. Moves out with like 10-12 stim marines and a coule of WM, while attacking drones at the third with the hellions.
But the big problem is that these builds are kind of easy to counter if you see them coming, where the Innovaiton style 4M just is solid.

Spire got killed and even last game he had a massive gas bank. That's what happens when you stick on 8 gasers for so long.
He was just lacking larvae due to bad injects. With better injects he can spend his gas on mutas and banelings and win.
This also. But the 2k happened when the 4th got killed and he was deseperatly trying to get out more speedlings. Also don't forget that he never really could inject on his 3rd and 4th because of Fantasy's agression.
Yes, Fanta better timing on upgrades this map, THIS IS KEY in TvZ for me. If you can micro at a decent level and macro well, upgrades win you this match up. Being ahead on 2-2 and then getting 3-3 way before Zerg is how u win

This... His Micro is pretty incredible. The way he controls his medivacs is pretty poor. Seems like he just boosts and clicks the map and never looks again. Also his macro can improve a bit, tho it was better than I expected.
Very glad to see Fantasy advance to Code S, but he's probably going to get mauled once there unless he improves drastically. That series with Sleep was just too close for comfort.
Not the best micro from both players, neither macro concerning sleep. It was fun to watch nonetheless but I don't see fantasy making it far against a top zerg.
edit: sleep kept sending banelings blobs offcreeps trading 10+ banelings for 5 marines all game, his muta control kept him into the game but his ground army control...

Yes but Zerg don't fail to tech beyond Lair every game like Sleep does lol. 3-3 vs 2-2 is only around for less than 5minutes normally and then it is down to zerg for failing to get to 3-3 quick enough. But 3-3 vs 2-2 with no sign of an infestor pit let alone hive is a free win for Terran in a decent match in terms of skill like that bo3 was

-.- so what. Terran buildings can float and zerg can't. Protoss get their upgrades faster than either. The races are different, what matters is it balances out in the end.
I think this game was a bit frustrating to watch because you know that better players would not make constant control errors, but from another point of view this was still quite exciting. Fantasy ended up winning because he played better, Sleep was punished for his bad macro and so on. I think if the game was more mechanically difficult that we would see more games like these.

agreed. A very entertaining game that featured several battles that didn't decide the game. Unfortunately not the highest level of macro by either player.

why no ghost. at mid game fantasy has a strong economy and enough units. he can add a few ghosts his army. sniping observers can make mutas open target against mines. also ghosts good against banelings i think....

Overseers are not Psionic, and Ghosts would be way too expensive anyway.

No one mine hit ( or two) sealed that game.
One mine killed around 10 banelings when he sent off for harassing. the final shot killed around 20 banelings or so.
Even if Sleep macro was horrible, how am I supposed to appreciate fantasy skill in placing those widow mines there? what a genius to put mines into the 4th?
or should i say to sleep, tough luck, you need overseer for every run bys and hope it doesn't get shut down even if terran wasn't looking there? Or tough luck, there are more mines there but you can't see it because overseer wasn't near by and it was either you go in after bait some mine shots and hope there are no more mines?

First of all, Fantasy WAS looking there. He lifted the OC at the last moment and ran the scv's away. He probably also targeted the bane group because it was perfectly centered, something that would not have happened manually.
Secondly, Sleep messed up royally by a) not having detection, b) not splitting the banes in any way.
I always thought that using banes to snipe an expansion is a terrible mechanic because for a set cost you eliminate something crucial (a base) in a very short amount of time, unless the terran has defences ready. As soon as the Z has has an X amount of minerals and gas, the base is forfeit. And that's not good entertaining harassment.

the point is, he didn't even need to lift it up. The lift up saved maybe 20 scvs, but he would have killed around 10 banelings for the scvs which is ideal anyway. secondly, the "probably" is exactly what I have problem with. We don't even know did fantasy do anything for the mine to hit so well. It isn't the first time we see a mine hit that is as good as it without terran even needing to micro it at all.
as for Sleep messing up, I honestly think it just completely sucks because unlike tank which you can have an idea how many units to break through, you can't do that with mine. You have to have an overseer and without overseer, you have to wait to get one which you don't always have time to get one.
The last death was basically showing the problem, you can't wait enough for overseer to morph or you will lose the 4th and terran knowing that can just push forward and be more aggressive with the bio poke. Overseer is with muta harassing? him dropping a mine bio drop? guess you have to morph another overseer or wait for your muta to go there to clean it up. You have to have overseer literally for everything, defense, attack, run by etc.
You can snipe a drop, another drop with widow mine bio, and a main push with a widow mine bio push, your overseer and muta is all the way sniped that drop. I mean it's like a dt with aoe damage drop defense while your race has no instant detection and once the mine hit is there, you cannot micro it off. It's doable, but it's silly, especially considering the mine shots are even automatic and you can spam them with late game economy. It is such a mess up once and I will swing the game right back type of unit .
