Anyone else want to weigh in here? As this is a PC forum not many of us xbox gamers have an account on here, but I'm sure you'll get a few more replies regarding Halo 3 over Halo 4 either here or on topmid.eu where you posted it.

Rising above 10K. 10K is confirmed.

Pretty impressive.
Regarding Halo 3 over Halo 4, there's been a few more posts on it both here and on the thread on topmid.eu. Mind me asking what's the current verdict on this? Are you guys going to throw together a poll for it or?

Honestly, neither Halo 3 nor Halo 4 are particularly good competitive games in this day and age, it's kind of a lose-lose situation. The hardcore competitive fanbase prefers Halo 3, but many of them have quit / moved on to other games given that H3 is 6 years old. Halo 4 is a good game in its own right, but lacked many important components to be a success as a competitive game.
Having said all that, I think going with Halo 3 would be the better choice - it is the better competitive game, it could experience revitalized interest due to being free for XBL Gold members shortly, and it will make your tournament more interesting / unique because it's been a while since there was a large-scale Halo 3 tournament. The Halo 3 nostalgia won't sustain the game forever, but there's still enough to keep people interested short-term (like for one or two of these events until the next, hopefully better, Halo is released)
Edit: Also, I think this goes without saying but better safe than sorry: you should be reaching out to European Halo communities to get their input on it. International PC gamers aren't going to be able to provide you with information about your local demographics for a console game tournament. If possible, get some of the top NA Halo players to attend your event, as you won't get as much international viewership for the Halo tournament without the best players there

What will the prize pool distribution be like?
|

5k for first, 3k for second, 1k for third, 350, for 4th. 200 for 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th.
So far.

Still TBC

Would love to hear other people's opinions on the single elimination bracket for Starcraft. Seems very luck based to make it in the tournament because of that. Double elimination would be way better imo.

I think the ideal format would be double elimination BO3 but I don't know if it's viable given the time constraints of a 2 day tournament.
