lichter's notes: I am currently writing a FAQ for LR threads, to be included at the bottom of each LR. Mostly I want it to address questions regarding LR threads, as well as questions about becoming LR OPs. Please look through the FAQ and PM me with ideas to improve it. TY!
Volunteer! All you have to do is check if there's already a thread for the tournament, or if anyone is scheduled to make the thread. If there isn't a thread and no one is scheduled to do it, you can become the LR OP! We are always looking for new people to help out, especially for WCS AM and EU.
Being the LR thread OP is hard work, but it's also fulfilling. Hundreds, if not thousands, of people check the LR thread every day, and it is a valuable resource to the community. It's a simple way of supporting SC2, the game we all presumably love :p
Now that I've decided to be a LR OP, what do I do? + Show Spoiler +
Next, read up a little on bbcode and familiarize yourself with it. It helps to look at the code for previous LR OPs.
Finally, check your schedule. Are you SURE you'll be around for the duration of the tournament? Are you sure you'll be able to update in a timely manner?
If everything checks out and you've done all of the above, all you have to do is make the thread!
Where can I find previous LR OPs, as well as LR resources? + Show Spoiler +
LRing is tough work, and only a handful of people do it regularly. The most famous ones are Shellshock and The_Templar, but occasionally other people (such as packrat, Yello, etc) do it as well. If no one is available to do it, then there is no LR. Again, we need more volunteers. Anyone who watches games regularly and types really, really fast has qualifications to become an LRer.
All you have to do is write out what happens during the game. It doesn't need to be complete, but it should be a good summary of the entire game. Supply counts, timings, build orders, and major events are typically what receive priority in LRs. You can read more LRs by Shellshock and The_Templar for a better idea of how to do it.
Can I submit a new banner, player photos, or other images? + Show Spoiler +
Yes! We encourage creativity in LR threads, so if you want to submit some fancy stuff and replace the premade ones, go right ahead.
Who do I contact if I have questions about LR threads? + Show Spoiler +
CatZ and Kane jumping ship to EU O.o it's funny coz the AM qualifiers seemed a lot less stacked...and if they played in AM before, they can't just switch over until this year is over, no?

Theres 2 Storms under the signed up players, one is the Danish player from CPHW, and one is a korean call kok7171( the B.net tag shows him as Storm) Nevermind, it says Ghost for him
But yeah I'm surprised Kane and CatZ are there, but I guess thats just a mistake, and they arent allowed to participate anyway.
Sorry lichter, I overlooked your beautiful premade OP
Gogo DJHelium! The terran player that was one "you can't lose unless you suicide your entire army with move command" away from tying it up 1-1 vs Genius, the protoss monster.
Other than that, I'm cheering for CELLA, swedish guys, Heromarine, Goody and Dwf!

CatZ announced it in his big Reddit post I think. Wasn't there a special "one region switch this year" rule or did that only apply from S1 to S2? Or maybe the Challenger League S3 counts towards 2014 in some weird way.

I thought that rule only applied to Koreans and only from S1 to S2, unless they somehow changed it. But this qualifier shouldnt count towards 2014 anyway. I dunno, guess we'll have to find out.

Rooting for the triumvirate of apm to go through (GoOdy, elfi, Sjow) and if that does´nt work, Socke/Heromarine/NightEnD/Knowme/hOpe and Happyzerg would also be much apprechiated, as well as AxiR, Dwf and DJHelium ofc. Btw. was´nt there an NA qualifier yesterday? Why was there no LR for that?

Didn't know WCS AM qualifiers were on until I saw it by accident on TL. Didn't know WCS EU qualifiers were today until yesterday evening. Didn't know WCS KR qualifiers were tomorrow until this morning.

Btw. guys, if everything goes their way, we might get GoOdy vs Strelok in the ro32. Prepare for long games with many tanks. Meanwhile Heromarine wins his ro128 pretty easily.

Goody vs strelok will be as long as any Goody's game, since strelok is not goody-type mech player :D

It looks like they're going with "this challenger league is for next year's premiere", as people from season 2 NA are playing here... so maybe they decided to play in Korea.
On September 21 2013 23:14 DiMano wrote: Where are HoeJJa and YoungJoo they take part in last Season prelims but missing now.
I think last season it was 4 qualifiers with each top 2 advancing and HoeJJa already gave up after 2, after he lost to players, who are not top-10 in their respective countries. Don´t know about Size though, I think, he came quite close last season.
ROOT seems conspicuously gone for the most part, are ROOT planning an invasion of Europe?
I just wonder why, because even with a bunch of top koreans in Premier, after seing the results of yesterdays qualifier, I´d think Eu Code B is still much deeper.
Well hes technically switching regions, but I dunno, maybe he got permission or something.
I guess you can't get WCS points in different regions (basically if you have been part of WCS premier or challenger) but if you don't have any so far (except from international tournaments) you can switch.

Revenge and Daisy are currently living in Europe though (as far as I know), and have been for quite some time. So I wouldn't say Europe didn't hold in case one of the two are making it through. Actually I am rooting for them since they are on a German and a Switz team.

Eh, this is Season 3 and I'm pretty sure that he was too young to participate in Season 1, else he would've gotten a direct invite into Code S, considering a lot of players have been invited into Code S who he had beaten in tournaments before. So it is at most his second try.

He was at least in 2 qualifiers in season 2, he was stopped in one of those by StarDust in other one by someone else (i forgot who though). Also, he would not get invite into Premier League, as it was based around WCS 2012 results and general results (in case of Mvp and MMA).

Have you seen his series? He was really in a bad shape today. So I wouldn't necessarily say that the bracket got significant easier.
I know, but a bracket without Socke is easier than one with him. Heromarine is ill apparently .
Heromarine has been ill for a couple of days already. That was also the reason why he canceled his participation in the Kaspersky Arena so short term. He still gave a good performance yesterday though, and has chances to advance (not saying it's a given).
