San is a really good choice for a joker. He is really strong vs zergs, has a good pvp, and his pvt is good enough for thestc.
After what we have seen from WW, so from San and Check, i am not so sure anymore that Acer will have this tournament...WW looks really strong.

San is good choice for joker is because he is really strong in qualifiers without prize money. And regular season is qualifier without prize money :D

They still can't really beat Innovation though... Even Millenium is arguably a good test for their roster (maybe Check can beat ForGG+Dayshi, I'm not familiar with his play enough to tell, but I don't think San can)

Each team is allowed to add a single "joker" player - a player loaned from another team - to their team roster for the whole season.

They could but I doubt it would ever be a problem because you have to think of what they're getting out of the tournament. If you pay too much to get some unbeatable joker you probably won't make a good investment out of the tournament even if you win. The jokers seem to be usually people with some sort of friendly tie to the team or is probably teamless and can be a cheaper addition to the roster. At least that's my opinion on it.
