Ask ESL, to my memory, they seeded him as one of WCS applicants to group stage (not qualified, like forgg, nani and polt).

Someone posted that Flash and sOs are seeded directly into the tournament, I think some ESL employees confirmed on reddit that Flash is going to the tournament so I guess they said fuck it yolo to their qualification formula and invited him directly since he brings lots of viewers(can't say I'm against this, these qualifiers are too brutal and random).
