Our event is scheduled for 23 November... but now they just announced Red Bull Battlegrounds NYC for the same date. Do ya'll think that will be a problem? We can consider changing the date to Dec 7th or Dec 14th because I doubt we will have any luck trying to get them to change theirs lol. Should we change or just stick with 23 Nov.?
Thoughts?

Nice to see a NA event. Sounds neat.

Can we get some feedback, maybe from some of our TeSPA friends, on how these dates line up with University finals? I know here in Lake Charles the 7th of December is right in the middle of finals. Is that going to be a problem for any of you students?
|
We're getting close to making a decision on a date but we haven't got a whole lot of feedback here... let us know if you have a date preference. we don't want anybody to have to miss out because of other plans.
|
december 14th is very likely around finals time for most students. i'd do 1 week earlier
|
yeah, that's what we figured.
Update: we've basically eliminated the 23rd because some community VIPs are unable to attend that day, as well as our casters. It's definitely looking like December 7th is the day, possibly still considering December 14th, but as Xeris said, it may be around finals time, and also that's getting a little close to Christmas.

The new date for the event is now officially set for Saturday, the 14th of December, 2013. This is a bittersweet decision as we know it is not the first preference for some participants. However, we had to make the decision that we felt would allow us to produce they best possible event for the entire community, and we hope many of you will be able to adapt your schedules to still attend. Stay tuned today for a big announcement that will make it clear why we had to choose this date and hopefully get everybody as excited as we are about the event.

Due to a higher than expected interest from international players, we are considering hiring translators for common languages. All the official tournament business, broadcasts, etc. will definitely be in English, but if possible we'd like to help with communication at the event for international players whose native language may not be English, or they may speak some English but not fluently. If you would like to come to our tournament and would like us to try to have a translator for your native language, please visit our facebook and vote in the poll so we will know.
Thanks!

Thanks for taking interest! I know we're half a world away but if anyone from Axiom is interested in competing we have some programs for travel assistance for current and former GrandMasters. I wish it weren't such meager assistance but we're doing all we can to help high level players attend and compete. Contact Jeremy at esports@tarverautomotive.com or Facebook message us for details.
Also, if any non-player representative from the team would like to attend let us know and we'll reserve you some VIP access passes.
Thanks!

I just saw a new post up on the facebook page https://www.facebook.com/events/304055589738831/ The guys are trying to score a group discount on hotel rooms for people staying overnight. Go leave a comment if you are planning on getting a room so the guys will know how many to reserve! This tournament is going to be so awesome!
|
We just got the registrations from Hui, Slam, and Ian from You Flash Wolves. We're stoked to have you guys on board! Can't wait to see some pros from the Taiwan E-Sports scene bring it. We'll have bios of all the players once the tournament gets a little closer, but as these guys are all GM and all pretty much dominant in their home country SC2 scene and have made some appearances in the WCS America Challenger League I felt like their upping was worth a shout on TL. Check them out on liquidpedia here.

Hey everybody this is something ya'll might want to check out when it starts up. This dude is putting together a web show about the NA SC2 Scene, going to feature up-and-coming pros and give NA fans a way to get to know them, their stories, their rivalries, etc. Seems pretty cool. Hopefully we'll see some players who are coming to our tournament. Check it out when it starts up in November.
Here's the link to the TL thread.

We are trying to get some group rates on hotels so please let us know ASAP if you are interested. We also have a game house that we are letting people stay in for free. Just let us know your situation and we will try to help you out the best we can.
You can find the registration form at https://www.facebook.com/events/304055589738831/
If you have any questions email us at esports@tarverautomotive.com

Lol highest prize pool outside of WCS
|
I don't know if it's actually the highest prize pool but we sure hope so!
We knew that to get fans to come out to our event we had to get big name casters and big name players. So that's what we did. RotterdaM and MrBitter, plus a $2000.00 grand prize and another $3000.00 spread out to the other top finishers, plus lots of free stuff and free food, not to mention lodging and transportation assistance. And we've got more big announcements coming up as it gets closer.
If you build it, they will come, right? We hope so, because we're doing our best to build it.
